Those hot takes have been going on for a long time now and most of them are simply hate comments with anything BTS put out and they mask it off as "constructive criticism"... 6yrs being ARMY and i really am done with them so i dont usually pay them any mind because some of them thrive off the attention.. @@nikki.serrano Some people have a knee-jerk reaction when they hear the term "autotune" and don't want to accept its use as an effect. It was put to good use here, giving Jimin more "voices" for the dialogue he's having. Funny thing, but after the first jarring seconds, it blended with the production perfectly. I agree with you- there are antis out there who are grasping at straws, looking for a reason to hate. If they really hated autotune, they would not be able to tolerate 99% of today's pop music.

Jimin has NEVER used auto tune in his high notes at ANY time! The only time BTS has ever used auto tune is stylistically; and they often use backing tracks while they dance heavily but even then, they are still singing. I don’t know where you get that from but it’s completely untrue. The first two phrases are him rap-singing in a very low register- it’s not auto tuned (likely has a bit of layering of his own voice) in that part, once again, for stylistic purposes. It’s not until the first “I never stop” that he uses auto tune (you can tell right away when it ‘kicks in’). And then it’s used as conversation: him trying to be free (verses and chorus in his OWN VOICE) and the angry him (in auto tune) - angry at 10 years of dealing with relentless haters and the effect it’s had on his self-esteem/confidence and resulting negative self-talk) - Brilliantly effective!!! In the end, he sets himself free, thus emerging in the white clothing as a freed Jimin.

They've used it before in songs like Interlude: Shadow ( Suga's solo song) to differentiate their 'darker' side or their fears from themselves. I may be in the minority, but Jimin doesn't use autotune at the start of the song like folks are saying. He's just singing in a low register. The autotune doesn't come in until we get to the pre-chorus, when he sings, "Ah yeah, Ah yeah...", which is more of a background. Then we get it again in the second verse. People acted like he T-Pained the entire song and he didn't. This was very well done. Good reaction guys.

That's why when the title of the song was released, a lot of army thought that he will be featuring. They did this before actually. For me, the use of voice modulation makes it sound like a different or inner voice talking to him. And just like the choreo and vocal, order and chaos together. You can hear him singing normally for most of the track so this is obviously a concious choice. Love it all.💜

Guys the autotune is put in certain parts only and that’s because it artistic choice as well as its because its a conversation between two sides of him (the normal jimin) says he want to be free and encourage himself meanwhile (the hardware side or the other side) says its not time yet! His voice doesn’t need autotune! He knows that that’s why he put the autotune intentionally to express himself and tell his stories. + His vocals is high naturally and all his high notes are naturally without autotune. Seriously, i respect everyone's opinion, especially since music is subjective and we all have different preferences, but sometimes people be just straight hating on BTS and Jimin.. That autotune debucle have been going on for like FOREVER! They said it for Dynamite, for Black Swan, even RUN BTS has parts with autotune.. Because they are using it with ARTISTIC INTENTIONS. In this case, the parts where autotune was applied was to make it sound as if Jimin was talking to his "other self", that other voice inside of him that wants to break free or that has been set free.. Also, this is the first time that Jimin was actually rapping, so the autotune really added a lot of texture and character to his voice to make it more hiphop sounding.. If you watch producers and vocal coaches reactions, they all said the same thing and praised the artistic use of it in the song. But i guess autotune has had such a bad representation in music that people always thinks badly of it when used in a song. But anyways, as an ARMY for 6yrs now, and a Jimin bias at that, this is not the first time the boys have been thrown that kind of reaction about their use of autotune.. At this point i dont even budge anymore to those hate opinions esp since the professionals themselves have praised the song and the members themselves are very involved in the production of their craft. For some reason, i like this song best among all of Jimin's solo, so far. It doesn't bore me. I don't really care about the autotune since it was a stylistic choice. We all know that Jimin has a heavenly voice (and no, he doesn't use autotune when he hits his high notes) and doesn't need any help. But you also have a point in saying that the autotune may have been used to cover up the accent in the english lyrics. Yeah, it could also serve such purpose. Well, Jimin cannot please everybody so I'm glad that he doesn't care about the 'opps' anymore. No matter what others say about this song, i'm simply happy that Jimin has stepped out of the box that people are caging him in and is willing to experiment and try other things. The very beginning of the song was Jimin's speaking voice, so that was him singing rap. No auto-tune on that part. It was on the other rap parts, but not the parts where Jimin was singing. The call and response parts throughout the video when Jimin was rapping and singing was so cool. The part when JImin wore only the Poem tattoos, and the auto-tune was overprocessed was very effective and left a strong impression (which is what it was meant to do). The way auto-tune was used in this video was so artistically clever mixed with Jimin's beautiful unique vocal styles, so well done. He didn't need another rapper to feature with him, since he was telling his story (his words not mine). So he did it by himself, and chose to experiment with auto-tune to relay his message. I say give Jimin his props.

I think that people might not like this song and the autotune because it's really different from the usual solo of Jimin, where it's usually slow, more kind of ballad songs. We're definitely not used of seing this side of Jimin. But I think, at least for me, it was kinda the same with the album of J-hope. I t was not what we usually heard from him, and even though I was surprised at first, in the end I was happy to see the memebers explore new things, dive into themselves, these last 10 years to make somethings that show their growth. And doing something that don't have to fit a BTS album, just the music they like and the lyrics they wanna share.

Choosing auto tune was an artistic and style choice, it's not because Jimin needs it. It's placed in different sections of the song to help tell the story of this song, so it's like a different Jimin talking to each other. It's Jimin freeing himself embracing all sides of himself. omg I was waiting anxiously for this! about what he wanna be set free from: one of the lyrics say “raise your hands for the past me now set me free” and it’s regarding to his younger self, he used to act extremely manly and “angry” and a couple of years later he mentioned in a interview that he used to want to appear like a strong man and now he doesn’t have to pretend, he can just be himself. the song itself is about embracing his past self but also letting it go, he’ll just be himself now despite what people might think and say. and people do talk a lot, especially about him, so the song is also a big f*ck y’all. 😊 I’m glad you guys enjoyed it! his album is coming out on 24 March and he’ll be on Jimmy Fallon as well for an interview and a performance of his album’s main track.

I have severe Bipolar manic depressive disorder and fight negative thoughts on a daily basis. So I positively relate to this song and I am so proud of him. The auto tune is used to show how fans dehumanize idols. That's why it sounds like robot. It gives the song more intensity. It's not used to cover his English. Jimin did not use auto tune for his high note.

Because all of this bs talk about autotune is coming from haters to begin with. The autotune part is barely for 30 seconds and thats only for the rap part as we all know jimin said this song is a hiphop song. The autotune is definitely for artistic purpose (if u read the lyrics for the autotune part, u can see jimin's lyrics in apostrophe/quotation, and i think that shows his inner voice). The coverage of them showing skin is about consent. When they are performing, filming MVs, etc, they are intentionally choosing outfits that will show what they are aware of or have given consent to. When it is outside of these moments (maybe their clothes are sheer or show something that they haven't given the ok on, editors will cover it).

Guys there are Jimin haters in the Fandom and I'm not gonna call them an Army because they always hate literally everything BTS do. But there are some Jimin haters in this world and they always say ridiculous things to him and it's not a surprise because he receives the most no.of hate until now weather it's death threats or calling him a lot of names. That's why in this mv he literally told these so called haters or some People's who are pretending that they are Army's but they are haters in reality that he don't F care and he is free from all these thoughts that he's been struggling from years and he do whatever he wants to do. He don't care what people gonna think about him. And for me personally In BTS itself the rappers used it a lot of times but not even a single so called OT7 Army's because they're not Army's said anything to anyone but if Jimin did that they were like noooo. Like WTF. But the whole real Army with the whole world who knows BTS AND MUSIC loved it so Damm much that they already said that this is the song of the year for them. Every single vocal coach , every single dancer, coreographer, fashion lovers appreciated every single thing on this MV. I've been literally watching all the reactions to this MV and every single person loved it. So, I assume that it's just a Twitter thing because I know Twitter is a hell and in this specific socal media platform you can find the most uneducated, nonsense and ridiculous people in this entire world you can think of and their only job is to hate someone for nothing, just because they thought in their minds that their opinions are very important for them, which is absolutely ridiculous to me. If you don't like some specific genre or a song than it's ohk but if you're saying that that the song is terrible just because you think than you're soooooo wrong. Get some help for your brain because that's a wrong thinking. You can just say that that something is not like my taste but I respect for what they're doing for themselves. Nobody forcing you to do something. There are only hypocrites on Twitter because all I can see is hate for a ridiculous reason. If BTS or every single member doing the same thing than they say that it's so boring , they didn't try to do something new and when they did try something new to their music than these ridiculous haters say that they didn't like this music at all. I had to chime in and correct what the guy in the blue T-shirt (sorry don't know your name) said at the beginning of the video. Jimin's high notes are not auto tuned. He has a unique sound and tone. He also mentioned using auto tune to cover his accent.😂 That was too funny! Watch some live performances to get the full effect of his voice. Part 1 was Suga's song. BTW, it's not a shirt! 💜

This is an absolute masterpiece! Jimin is on another level. He is perfect art in motion. 👍👍💙💙💎💎💎💎 The song is amazing. This is so epic!! He is the most powerful performer I have ever seen in my life and he is the best dancer and an amazing artist in the whole music industry. There are always insecure haters every time Jimin does something(even he breathes). We all know who they are and what they have been doing to Jimin. We just sit back and enjoy what Jimin creates (amazing piece of art) while haters are whining. According to Korean legendary singer, Na Hoona said, real superstar should be able to make not only his fans crazy but also haters crazy. Therefore, Jimin is clearly superstar without doubt.
