Sonogong is their name for the monkey king. In Japanese it is written as Son Goku. It’s about Dragonball. If you listen at the end they say the end of their song is the music from the show’s ending credits. They talk about riding on a cloud & look at some of their hand motions. Even the outfits at the end are somewhat reminiscent.

The title reads: Sonogong in korean; Sun Wukong in Chinese (mythical character); Monkey King in English; and Son Goku in Japanese (yeah the dragonball z character) . If youre a big fan of dragon ball z youll recognize some of their lyrics and moves. (2 fingers on forehead is dragonballz instant transmission) But they named it “Super” in English (for reasons we dont know)

I’m assuming they named it “Super”, as a tribute to Dragon Ball Super. (Woozi is a huge anime fan so I’m pretty sure he was trying to reference DBZ, since he’s very intentional with his music).

One recommendation is to do more dance practices. Because it’s so fun watching them dance. The dance practice for this song was so massive with all the dancers that they had to hold it in a gym. And you watched Maestro, but they’ve also come out with both a choreography version of the video as well as a dance practice. So I definitely recommend that. And finally, they dropped another MV the other day. It’s a song by the hip-hop unit called LALALI. No dance practice for that yet, but there are a couple of live performances of it where you can see the choreo. Basically, I very much recommend watching their choreography because they’re amazing dancers.

Also the song's name is sonogong (monkey king), which is a legendary figure. It has super powers and many parts of the lyrics and choreo are referances to monkey king's powers, like jumping on the flying cloud, the power pole, and multiplication move at the end of choreo. Woozi mentioned that it was a really hard time for the members due to personal reasons, and he wanted them to be strong like a monkey king who has super powers, to overcome all the bad things. That's how this song was made. And this song is title track from the album FML. That album has double title tracks, one is sonogong, one is f*ck my life. You should also check f*ck my life mv, because both in lyrics and mv it depicts how hard it was for them and in that mv there are referances to sonogong as well. Hope you like it!
