Corepunk is what I wanted from a Warcraft mmo, that same isometric combat with the feeling of warcraft tier fantasy, the last mmo that made me this excited to play it was literally world of warcraft which i played when i was 12, corepunk brought back that magical feeling, that dragon ive been chasing was corepunk

I’m struggling with the $35 price tag for early access. In my view, there’s little incentive to pay a full release price for a partially completed product … this era of paying to test a game is exhausting. Better to let it bake awhile longer and revisit when they have polished it up more.
@LoudokaBJJАй бұрын
Keep in mind that when they say "Early Access" they don't mean "Marketing" Early Access. They mean development Early Access. So there still could be 1 or 2 more wipes before the game has any new updates. In it's current state, at max level, the only thing you can do is min/max your builds. There are some world bosses but they really don't drop anything. They were exploited by a group of players so they had their loot pools nerfed. This Early Access is currently the last phase of Alpha. It is not a Beta. So any new updates such as dungeons, new classes, epic gear, etc. may not be in the game for a good while.

Game is really cool. The classes are very distinct and aren’t balanced perfectly which I like. Upgrades don’t come often but they really matter. I think a good litmus test for if you’ll like the game/ have the patience required, is if you like outward or classic wow. And maybe harder extraction games. They don’t have an official extraction mode yet, it is planned. But the map has safe zones. Mid tier orange zones where PvP can happen but isn’t encouraged, and then red zones where PvP is encouraged. Loot is SIGNIFICANTLY better in the red zone but if players don’t get you, the mobs prob will.

Most of this sounds pretty fun, but a random critter touching me during a teleport animation and putting it on a half hour cooldown would be the perfect excuse to quit. It's one thing to make things less hand holdy and take some time, but to straight up waste time like that is purely annoying. If that was intended, somebody needs to reevaluate gamer's desire to waste time, and if it was a bug, that is just sort of expected.

Bruh! That lizard nudging and putting my skill on cd would have tilted me! I've been looking for another MMO. Been playing BDO after my long GW2 stint. BDO is just taking forever to get to midgame and there is barely any social interaction that's relevant to today's progression path. I've been staring at my cart with Pantheon: rise of the fallen in it, and the title screen for Embers Adrift. The problem is I don't know anyone who is with old school style MMOs like those and Corepunk. So I'm kind of stuck playing the Massively Single Player Role Playing Gamba Game until I find some peeps. I say all that to say, those that have buds to drop in on games like this, count your blessings.

Didn't break any NDA. Developer specifically tweeted they made a mistake. GGG has no problem with us, I still have access to the game and publishing content in a few hours when the (updated) embargo lifts. You're misinformed by people without access who didn't see the embargo and are guessing because they want clicks on their drama content.

Don't want to read a story in a video game, don't want to wander aimlessly. Show me where the combat is, the puzzle of the game should be figuring out how to win in combat not finding the combat.

Handholding in MMOs actually hurt their longevity, almost no MMO has gone from semi complex to easy and gained players. I know it's a meme, but the fortnite-ification of gaming, and those who only play the easy to comprehend action packed games are not a good thing for gaming. When gaming is dopamine forward with eay access to everything and repetition combat it turns toxic as it is only there for dopamine addicts.
@TheBolondronАй бұрын
@@FetidFoodCheese The exact opposite is true, the more an MMO caters to its casual playerbase the more its playerbase grows. WoW literally became the biggest MMO by simplifying and "handholding" players through what Everquest was already doing. ESO same thing, GW2 same thing, FFXIV same thing, they ALL have grown almost exclusively by making their content more and more catered to casual players. Stop making shit up like you're making a point when you're not, you're just describing what you wish was true, the opposite of what actually is true.
@FetidFoodCheese5 күн бұрын
@@TheBolondron Two things, wow wasn't nearly as hand holding, their peak playerbae was 2016 and have gone down year after year since, and there are almost 8x the quantity of gamers in 2024 than there were in 2015. Just in 2019 there were 1.5 billion gamers worldwide, we are now approaching 3 billion only 5 years later. WOW as a game has shrunk, while the number of gamers have exploded.
