This is a story of hope. This is a story of sacrifice. This is a story of a life of an individual that saw the needs of the oppressed ahead of her own. This is the story of her diligent labor at sewing and the fruit of new beginnings to be harvested from her parting. This is the story and the life of a great woman of God.

It was so hard for her to stand still and let God have his way on her that day. I know it was! Watching someone take their VERY LAST FINAL BREATH as did I back in 2017 when my family member died. But then to stand up for your family and speak to those who are in pain & let God have his way. It is truly remarkable

I remember thinking, before Elder King spoke and certainly as she was speaking, that Coretta's funeral was, in a way, the most profound funeral of the century, outranking even her husband's. I was impressed by the unity it evoked among the citizens of Atlanta (even the normally disruptive types behaved), and the hordes of people it brought from across the nation. In fact, the whole world, for a moment, did obeisance to a beautiful and moral BLACK WOMAN...and that, to me, was most profound.

It is written that when a seed falls to the earth and dies, it will bear much fruit. What is unique about Coretta's passing is that she wrestled with God. Paul the Apostle said it like this. He said that he could remain in the earth and that would be for the benefit of those here. Or he could go to be with the Lord and that would be to his benefit. Yet Coretta realized that, as much as she loved her work, her time of passing meant an abundant harvest and a new beginning.

What I have found fascinating about this is the insightful analogy Bernice gave concerning the similarity between her mother's pathology and the pathology of the nations and their societies. I felt it was a very relevant revelation of God's intent to deliver to the earth a new beginning. It is not a coincidence that we are upon another Smita year (Year of Jubilee) and the evidence of failing economics is only the way God plows the earth before sowing the seeds of new b8ginnings. But it is going to take more than God's intention. He has given the gift. We must receive it and apply it in our lives. Above all, people must realize that the work of Dr. Martin and Coretta Scott King is not only for the oppression of one race upon another, but in a much larger sense, for the oppression of evil against all men and women of the earth. What an honor it is to me that God has chosen me as a vessel to use in furnishing this precious speech.

This was so much more than a eulogy. It was a prophetic call for the sons and daughters of God to begin to come out of the wilderness and take our places that we were destined to. It was a call to a new way, a new dimension of Gods plan for us and this world. Bernice like her father sure knows how to inspire, and be a spiritual spark for change.

I watched the entire funeral and worried that Bernice would not be able to follow the outstanding speakers who spoke before she did. Well, she more than rose to the occasion! Her eulogy was the most profound I've ever heard, and I was so proud of her that day. I am convinced God's hand was upon her, for how else to explain her composure and profundity while eulogizing her own mother? I've always wanted to anaylyze the speech; now, thanks to you, I can. God bless you.

Wonderful share. Thank you. I remember getting the news. I was working under a nasty racist. I happened to be walking with him when I saw the news. I don't k ow why I thought he'd care. I told him and he seems to care less. I'll never forget that moment. Fortunately I no longer work with him, and may he get his due.

So glad that you posted this. Dr. Bernice's life changed at this moment. She became great. And I have long wanted to study this eulogy to extract the beautiful wisdom embedded in it. (The only problem I have with this eulogy is the necessary acknowledgment of E. Long. But to hear Dr. King's godly preaching, and to honor Mrs. King, I can endure and overlook the "pastor.") God bless you for posting this, and God bless Dr. Bernice King.

Coretta describes the number 8 as representing new beginnings with regards to this. I posted this video shortly after returning from a trip to Memphis, TN. I don't know if you noticed where she describes this, the licenses of the two white cars in front of the Lorraine share only 1 number, the number 8. I don't think that is a coincidence. Now look at what is all still going on around us at such a time as this. That which Dr. Martin and Coretta left behind is at our disposal to bring this about.

A conversation I had with Microsoft Copilot on 5/7/2024 You Do you know why the family decided to go to Mexico for the treatment of Coretta's illness? Copilot Usingthe web The decision by Coretta Scott King’s family to seek treatment for her illness in Mexico was influenced by several factors. Here are some key reasons: 1. Holistic and Alternative Therapies: Coretta Scott King was exploring holistic and alternative therapies for her health conditions. These approaches often focus on treating the whole person rather than just the symptoms. Mexico has been known for its alternative medicine clinics, and some patients seek treatments there that may not be available or widely accepted in other countries. 2. Ovarian Cancer Treatment: Coretta Scott King was battling advanced-stage ovarian cancer. In Mexico, she received holistic therapy at the Oasis Hospital in Rosarito Beach. The clinic offered treatments that combined conventional medicine with complementary approaches. Patients sometimes choose such clinics when they believe they have exhausted conventional treatment options. 3. Privacy and Confidentiality: Seeking treatment in Mexico allowed the King family to maintain a level of privacy and confidentiality. They could avoid intense media scrutiny and public attention that might have occurred had Coretta received treatment in the United States. The decision to go to Mexico allowed her to focus on her health without constant media intrusion. 4. Personal Preferences: Coretta Scott King and her family likely considered her personal preferences and beliefs. She was an advocate for civil rights and social justice, and her decision to explore alternative treatments aligned with her commitment to holistic well-being. 5. Clinic Choice: Unfortunately, the specific clinic where Coretta received treatment in Mexico faced controversy. It was not legally licensed for certain medical procedures, which raised concerns about patient safety. However, the family’s choice may have been influenced by recommendations, referrals, or other factors related to this particular clinic. In summary, Coretta Scott King’s decision to seek treatment in Mexico was likely a combination of her health needs, personal beliefs, privacy considerations, and available treatment options. Ultimately, her legacy continues to inspire and impact civil rights movements worldwide. You Specifically, according to the eulogy speech her daughter Bernice Albertine King, ESQ made at her funeral, they wanted to remove her from the reach of mainstream media, which can often spin untruthful scenarios about news items such as Coretta's final days. In Bernice's own words excerpted from that speech, "Be careful of what you hear on the news..." Copilot Usingthe web Thank you for sharing that insight from Bernice Albertine King’s eulogy speech. It’s a poignant reminder of how media narratives can sometimes distort the truth or sensationalize events. Coretta Scott King’s family’s decision to seek treatment in Mexico was indeed influenced by a desire for privacy and protection from media scrutiny. In times of vulnerability, it’s essential to approach news with discernment and critical thinking. As Bernice wisely advised, “Be careful of what you hear on the news…” 🌟 You Exactly!. You even said it better than she said it in her speech. Copilot Usingthe web Thank you! I appreciate your kind words. Bernice Albertine King’s wisdom reminds us all to approach news and media narratives with discernment. In a world where information spreads rapidly, critical thinking is essential. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! 😊 You Do you have any information on where Bernicce's speech at her mother's funeral can be found online?
