This was a fantastic interview bringing some raw insight on how dysfunctional the browns were. Super frustrating that Coleman had to struggle through that. Probs to him and UCSS for talking about it.

Nice to get his perspective. I was a big critic as well but I think as fans we look at our team with rose colored glasses. It was a nightmare back then so of course he wasn’t gonna pan out.

That Browns “era” was hard enough to watch/follow. Corey’s account just sheds even more light on the awfulness that was the Browns at that time. Brutal!

boy those were some dark dayz under ole Hugh Jackson. A little poetic justice when a man (Hugh Jackson) who states he was the escape goat, finds another head coaching gig at an HBCU school to later be terminated due to underperforming.

He’s still the same stuttery nervous kid I remember when he was here. Super athletic but I don’t think he very possessed the mental makeup to succeed at the nfl level. He was a helluva athlete in college but that can only take you so far in the NFL. And to bring it back to his nervousness I spoke of I don’t think he was able to handle the hard coaching Todd Haley and our staff gave em. Instead of turning a switch on like hard coaching does in us dawgs, I think it killed his confidence he was never a dawg mentally he was never in that state of mind and it showed in his play.

Gotta start looking at these guys as family. There is a lot of talk of “ family” but bunch of it is just talk. They need to look at it like this- Treat them like you’d treat your son or your brother or father. It’s not that hard to do. Look at this wonderful guy. If he came to me with an issue, I’d do all I could to help him through it. You don’t need to know a guy that well in order to see who they are. I listened to him for 2 minutes and I could tell he was a good guy. We need to eliminate this thinking of these guys as property. I now consider him as a Browns brother. You were treated badly here and I apologize to you for how you were treated. Thanks for your bravery and I wish you all of the best in the future. Browns need to give this guy a job! We need guys like him in our organization! He’d be a huge help to young players coming into the league. He is a resource we’d be foolish not to utilize. He’d show true caring and all players on the team would appreciate the team for having a guy like him on the staff. If there is no position for him now, create one.

See,this is why I don't shit on my Browns players. For some reason, I look at them like my lil brothers,I yell, catch the ball, or c'mon get it together, but never you suck,or f'em. They're people too! People gotta realize these are young men sometimes, kids! Idk!
@johnnystamper1958 ай бұрын
They were all alike starting with Hue Jackson, Justin Gilbert, Corey Coleman, Johnny Manziel and many more. They told them study more, practice harder use ur gifts but these guys cared about hanging out and partying. Blame game all of them yet it was no different anywhere he went and now we hear about the guy making millions and how hard he had it. Miss me with this Joe Haden, Joe Thomas were young guys and Josh Gordon excelled his 1st couple years in spite of the qb's. The Browns r better because of Andrew Berry but its because of not bringing in guys like this
@bjmartin12158 ай бұрын
Nobody thought he was a horrible person. Stop reading social media. Why did the WR coach tell you to ask to be traded?
@bjmartin12158 ай бұрын
The stats won't show it because the rules were not as favorable for Receivers or Quarterbacks, but Paul Warfield and Lance Alworth were two of the best, along with Randy Moss. Other receivers build up stats and set records because of the advantages the rules have given the passing game. Josh Gordon could have been one of the best. And Calvin Johnson probably. Jerry Rice had big stats and played with Montana and Young in the great passing attacks in San Francisco but stats can be deceiving at times. I give Rice credit though.

I'm sorry that HBO and the media or whoever put out damaging lies about Corey, but I don't think the owners had anything to do with that, and I don't think they could stop teams from thinking this or that about Coleman, and HBO made it look that way. Shame on the QB coach and Todd Haley.

Oh poor Corey, his career was done when he dropped that 4th down pass against the Steelers. That WR coach that told you to demand a trade, based on history,, did the Browns a favor. If he was any good, he wouldn't have retired from the scrub league. Blame the Browns all you want to.
