Corey is a perfect example of what Hollywood does to child stars. I cannot even watch these acts of the mentally ill and I have 13 years of graduate school psychology. Corey needs to understand that his star fell a very long time ago. Like 40 years ago.
@hjalmar.poelzig11 ай бұрын
I saw Corey Feldman at Monsterpalooza a few years ago. He stood by himself, looking bummed out and self-conscious, exactly the way you'd imagine a drug-addled former child star would be after having blown through his money and reduced to doing the convention circuit to remain in show business. I felt a twinge of pity but couldn't bring myself to speak to him.

I met him about 12 years ago when he played at a family's concert venue. I was a young teen and only knew him from the Goonies/Stand by Me. He was nice to me but was definitely playing the celeb card at this little mom and pop midwestern venue demanding honey for his tea and whatnot. When he got on stage in front of a crowd of about 50, the backdrop became a giant George W Bush head with a hitler mustache and devil horns on fire. The people were not ready for that performance. I certainly wasn't. 😅

You just KNOW that one’s name and career are hanging by a thread whenever you see them as regulars around the convention circuit. It’s a shame knowing that, too, since some of my favorite horror actors are usually at most horror conventions. In particularly, actors like Bill Moseley, who played Chop Top in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and was Otis in the Rob Zombie movies - House Of 1,000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects Bill sometimes even goes as far as getting into character as Chop Top for some of his appearances… we’re talking an 8 hour grueling process, then spending the rest of the day in that getup, just to give the horror fans a good memorable time that’s fun for ok of them And then I hear tales of the Feldawg pulling stunts to hold up the conventions and to steal attendees from other lines, which is a low blow in that setting

I think Corys songs have potential, I feel like when I listen to songs like Comeback king and the like, I can see what he was going for in his writing, it's just the delivery he needs work on. I'm sure at this point in his career, Cory has a lot of "yes men" surrounding him, telling him his stuff is great, but what he really needs is a modern set of ears, and someone to seriously tell him to keep working on the songs, or maybe a colab with an experienced modern song writer. One thing I can say is, yes he does love music. I think that's where he gets his drive

His mother began his "brainwashing" when he was a child model, going on auditions. She would teach him a song to sing so that he had something to do in front of the casting agent besides look cute. To ease his nerves and give him confidence, she told him what a wonderful singer he was. The only problem is, Corey believed her and NEVER took vocal lessons and NEVER learned ANYTHING about music!

He did have a professional musician as a collaborator once and he did indeed come up with a good song. That was great man. I would have thought it impossible to explain wtf was going on with him, but you did that very nicely. I think the main problem is that it's not real. So obviously trying to be uniquely artistic, by someone not very artistic, touching on the superficial overarching theme without any actual vision, experience or being. This is what he thinks success is, this is a visual example of the thoughts in his head from a jagged, piecemeal lifetime of trying so very hard to be thought of as cool. Funny, Dream a Little Dream was my favorite movie back then. Must have watched it a million times. Mainly because Meredith Salenger was so hot. And it had the other Corey. I was such a closet Corey fan. Used to get drunk and tell people I WAS Corey Feldman. Lol, I look nothing like him. Today show hurts me to watch. It's soooooooo bad. Yet he looks very cool the way he's dressed, set looks great. But those jagged, unrelated jerky movements just don't work. Looks like he's having a seizure! But he's got moves, no question there, they are just not choreographed well, if at all. And why? Because he's trying to do it himself. He doesn't have the ability to be the artist. If he'd recognize his frail attempts at being an artist make him look silly, then employ qualified people to help him, he could get what he wants so badly. To be relevant again. Possible? Yes. Likely? Nooooooooo.
