Do the Palestinians know history at all? Are they aware that the Arab world expelled about 860,000 Jews? Do these Jews get a right of return? Compensation? Did the UN pass any resolutions regarding the rights of these Jews, whose communities had existed long before the Arabs invaded the Levant and North Africa? Or does the UN only pass resolutions penalizing Israel? There are many other points of historical fact that none of these Palestinians address - this is just one.

Show me some archeological artifacts or ancient historians that mentions the Palestinian people. But, please do not take my word for it, here are quotes from Palestinian and Arab leaders in their own words that denied the existence of a Palestinian people "...on June 4th we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem...then all of the sudden we were Palestinians in 1967 . I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian" Walid Shoebat, former PLO member. Here is another quote "There is no difference between Jordanian, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity...yes,the existence of a separate Palestinian serves for only tactical purposes.. The founding of a Palestinian state is a tool in the continuing battle against Israel". Zuhair Muhsin, Military Commander and member of the PLO Executive Council. Finally, a quote from a letter to PLO leader Yasser Arafat from the Syrian President Assad " ...You do not represent Palestine as much as we do. Never forget this one point: there is NO SUCH THING AS A PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, there is no Palestinian entity,there is only Syria. You are a integral part of the Syrian people,Palestine is an integral part of Syria..." There you go, in their own words a denial of the existence of a "Palestinian" people, and a denial that the Palestinians own Palestine.

Prove to me that there was an Israeli state before 1948. Exactly. The Palestinian 'Arabs' are arabised Canaanite Northwestern Semites, as are the Jews. All genetic evidence supports this. They lived in regional kingdoms in Canaan (the Levant). The Arab invasion arabised much of Western Asia and North Africa. You're not serious if you think the Sudanese, Moroccans, Egyptians, Iraqis, Palestinians etc are all fully or mostly 'Arab' in the proper sense, the same way the Senegalese aren't French. Egypt expelled all Jews "who where sympathizer with Zionists", which they defined so broadly they ended up expelling just about all of their Jews. To contrast that Syria banned Jewish migration. Syria also confiscated all of their land, banned them from buying new land, banned them from government jobs, and made it illegal for them to go further than 3 miles for their home town. Male Jews who tried to feel to Israel from Syria where often murdered, female Jews where often raped than murdered. When the ban on immigration was briefly lifted in the 50's basically all of Syria's Jewish population moved to Israel or the United States. my family are from the former Soviet union, and trust me if we still lived there we would leave the first chance we go. I am vary sympathetic to the middle eastern, and eastern European Jews who moved to Israel. I am just pointing out what is said is factually wrong. Just because I find one thing someone says factually inaccurate does not mean I disagree with them on everything.

Yes, there were plenty of Jews who immigrated to Israel after 1948, but there were 600K of them there before 1948. And the Jews in both groups mixed and married and had children and grandchildren. In other words, you don't have a segregated section of German-Jews, for example, that identifies as a distinct group. The result is the following: Ask a random Israeli where their family came from and you'll find that most of them have family that was there before 1948. Probably a good question for Gil to ask... oh, wait, he already did...

Get this into your head: The word Palestine is derived from the word "Invaders" in Hebrew. The romans after they slaugtered the jews and expelled them to exhile, they named this land Palestine to punish us as it symbolized an unwanted entity within this land (as there were few invading groups settling at the south of Israel in the past). So that name is not based on a genuine intention to form a country but just a random name. The name for itself tells the truth: anyone else but sons of Israel in this land is an invader.

According to genetic studies Palestinians are local to Israel/Palestine and should remain there. They speak Arabic and are Muslim because of The original Arabs from the peninsula colonized them for centuries. With your logic, all countries in Latin America should not even exist and since they speak Spanish and are Christians too, they should all go back to Spain. Also, eventhough the Jews are also indigenous, they also have significant ancestry from their host population as well. Israel itself existed as an independent, sovereign state only for very few hundred years and was mostly a vassal state of others and this was in a very, very distant past. So what? Israel also shouldn't exist because it wasn't always there?! The concept of modern nation-state is relatively new and so most countries in the world are between 100-200 years old with a few exceptions like China for example. Just because they are Muslim or speak Arabic, doesn't mean they belong in other Muslim or Arab countries. The people in those countries don't want them, for the same reason that any country doesn't want them. Because they are not from there and they shouldn't even be anywhere else except Israel/Palestine. It's Israel's problem alone, not anyone else's. It can choose the two state solution, or choose to remain the apartheid state that it is already.

@@reubenmcmurray4377 I've never been to Ireland or Northern Ireland, and haven't looked into the conflict before; I may well be talking through my hat. But wasn't the Northern Ireland conflict only ever about Northern Ireland? Simplistically, some people wanted it to be a part of Ireland proper, while others wanted it to be a part of the United Kingdom. Even the latter group never demanded that Ireland become entirely a part of the UK. The Israeli vision consists of a safe and secure homeland for the Jewish people; the precise borders are secondary to that goal, and as long as that goal is met, a Palestinian state is not an impossibility. But the Palestinian vision is frequently (usually?) of an Arab or Arab majority state "from the river to the sea", with no place for a Jewish national entity at all. They've been sold this vision by corrupt leaders who prefer to line their own pockets from the billions of foreign aid money, which they would find harder to do under a formal state structure; they use Israel as a convenient distraction from being held accountable. The Palestinians find support in the justice and reasonableness of this vision by all the criticism and condemnation thrown at Israel. Had there been such a group within Northern Ireland, which demanded that the entirety of Ireland be dissolved into the UK, and was willing to use any and all violent ends to accomplish that goal, how would peace have been achieved?
@reubenmcmurray43773 жыл бұрын
@@zevspitz8925 Well the first thing is that you have the examples around the wrong way. In this example the protestant Irish are the Jews and the catholic Irish are the arabs. The catholic Irish wanted to take Northern Ireland and unify Ireland under the catholic religion, if they had to kill the Irish protestants to achieve this then so be it. They would have happily “thrown the Protestants into the sea”. This would obviously be a different story if explained by someone from Dublin but that’s my bias. If your going to research it look for “the troubles”, this was the 30 year period of extreme violence during which over 10000 bombs were exploded in terror attacks and chaos consumed the two countries. There is no grudge though. We put that behind us because endless fighting is chaotic and corrupts society. Btw, Your Palestinian quote is just an excuse to not look for peace if I’m being honest. From your comment I get the feeling you don’t want peace because it would involve acknowledging the other side.
@zevspitz89253 жыл бұрын
@@reubenmcmurray4377 Thanks for your response, and your correction (I did say I know virtually nothing about the conflict). I didn't intend to imply that I don't want peace. I obviously cannot speak for every Israeli, but my understanding is that the overwhelming majority of Israelis (myself included) do want peace; and are willing to make concessions, even difficult ones, to that end. Particularly since recognition is not a difficult concession for Israel. But to continue the analogy, AFAICT the goal of the Catholic factions was never to wipe the entire UK off the map; it was only to restore Irish sovreignty to Northern Ireland. For many Palestinians, however, that is precisely the goal -- to have one or more Arab states from the river to the sea, without Israel. More: you say "we put that behind us because endless fighting is chaotic and corrupts society." I would add that generally the overwhelming benefits of cooperation render any accomplishments of war infinitely miniscule in value. This seems to me a simple calculation -- why did it take 30 years to resolve the Troubles? I know very little of the conflict, but I would suggest that as long as Catholic paramiltary groups thought their goal was immediately achievable through their actions, or still worth the moral price they were paying, they'd have little or no incentive to discontinue. And it took 30 years for enough people to realize that they were chasing a pipe dream, or at least a far-too-expensive goal. Israel is already far past that point, and has been since its inception. When Zionist Jewish leaders were offered the UN partition plan of a state that didn't contain either Zion (Jerusalem) or Judea, they still agreed, because not every goal is worth paying any price. Israel ceded the Sinai peninsula to Egypt, and withdrew from Gaza Strip, in the hope of peace. But I contend many Palestinians are not there yet; and what's worse, the corrupt Palestinian leadership has a vested interest in keeping Palestinians from reaching that point -- that way these "leaders" can keep stealing without the accountability that peace and normal social institutions would inevitably bring. What can be done? * Make corruption not worthwhile, by calling out and enforcing freedom of the press, of non-violent assembly, free and fair elections, free access to information. * Present the Palestinian people with an alternate message: of the benefits to be gained by peaceful coexistence * Take extreme caution when criticizing Israel, ensuring that it's not interpreted by any Palestinians as denying Israel's right to exist. Let's hope it takes less than an additional 30 years.
@reubenmcmurray43773 жыл бұрын
@@zevspitz8925 -By “restore Irish sovereignty” your basically kicking my ancestors out of the country they were born in because of their religion/politics by violent force. It took 30 years to achieve peace because the hatred was deep and it took a lot to forgive (unless you understand the history between Catholicism and Protestantism this is probably something you underestimate). -Your question as to what slingshotted the peace process into reality is quite a hard one to answer. The biggest reason at a guess is probably the move towards a shared economic framework across Europe. Prosperity is infectious. Conflict is repulsive. -I didn’t mean to imply you were aggressively opposed to peace, just more nonchalant towards it than you probably should be considering how much this conflict drags on your society and economy. -What is a “right to exist” exactly? For example NI was an independent country, then it joined the EU, now it’s not sovereign anymore but it still exists. So would Israel and Palestine forming a greater country with 2 or more states constitute Israel not existing anymore? Because unless one side gives up Jerusalem then a federal system is likely your best bet. National unity, statehood for all and a shared capital.

It says in the declaration of independance that every citizen of Israel (including arabs yes in case you may not know) can practice it's religion or anything regardless their gender, religion or everything. 2nd is that they're proud and can't think of living in a jewish state called israel, it's like an abomination to them and when the first woman says that it should be the palestinians ruling the 1 state is just funny, they can't handle the situation of anything and then blame israel, the fatah arrested students for nothing and tortured them because they voted for the hamas in uni elections and another was arrested because he talked trash on the fatah on facebook? What a free state... It really should be call Palestine with abbas as a president..

There are problems on both sides with reciprocal feelings of injustice and a loss of trust. The Palestinians should pursue greater education and develop a capacity to debate in a balanced manner and anticipate the thinking of the Israelis before responding. People also say that there is a lot of corruption, coercion, division,petty factional infighting , a lack of womens rights within Palestine, a lack of regular and transparent elections , so they first really need to get their own house in order. At the moment the strongest advocates for Palestine are almost all jewish. Noam Chomsky, Ilian Pape, Gideon Levy, Max Blumenthal, Glen Greenwald. Are there no Palestinian intellectuals , writers, KZbinrs inside or outside of Israel or Palestine capable of articulating a Palestinian point of view. Are there no Palestinians in the USA, UK, France who can speak out. ?And of course are there no muslims of influence who could speak out? It almost looks like the Palestinians themselves are hardly aware of their own circumstances and are just waiting for a none- palestinian, non-muslim to save them.
@zevspitz89253 жыл бұрын
The problem is, Palestinians who would be willing to recognize Israel are in grave danger of attack by the PA. They really can't speak publicly. You'll see it sometimes on Corey's videos where they refuse for their face to be in the camera. Israel's equal treatment of its minority citizens, freedom of the press and nonviolent expression, and the many offers it has made to the Palestinians over the years (which were each rejected in turn) all attest to Israel's ability to respect and even cherish the Other. The Palestinian record in this is ... not so great, to say the least. Minorities are persecuted under PA rule: www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15318/persecuted-palestinian-christians ; to say nothing of the abuses the PA commits against its own people: www.gatestoneinstitute.org/17608/violations-un-security-council . And their treatment of Jews is even worse. Two examples: a PA resident who sells land to a Jew or Israeli is punishable by death, and the PA pays a monthly stipend to those who commit acts of terror against Israeli civilians, as well as to their families (the so-called pay-to-slay policy). PA school educational materials are full of incitement and brainwashing to violence www.impact-se.org/reports/palestinian-territories/palestinian-authority/ , and so is the PA-run state television palwatch.org/ .

This man at around 2 minutes in, sounds very sincere. Unfortunately, as shown in the UK, moslems buy entire neighbourhoods over two decades or so. The community buildings are given planning permission on the basis all locals have access. This is the case for a few years, then aggressive moslem youths prevent access. Gays and women, who do not follow accepted moslem dress-code are harrassed and made unwelcome. In the words of anjem choudary, a militant islamist in the UK, "who said it is your country". Unfortunatly, world domination is their thing. Allah (swt) says in the Qur’aan: “It is he (Allah) who has sent his Messenger (saw) with guidance and the religion of truth, in order for it to be dominant over all other religions, even though the Mushrikoon (disbelievers) hate it.” (EMQ at-Tawbah, 9: 33) And the messenger Muhammad (saw) said: “Verily Allah has shown me the eastern and western part of the earth, and I saw the authority of my Ummah (nation) dominate all that I saw.” (Saheeh Muslim, hadeeth #2889) As Allah (swt) has said; this religion (i.e. Islam) is the only religion of truth; and the reason why he has sent us this deen is “in order for it to be dominant over all other religions.” Thus, Allah (swt) never sent us this deen as a mere spiritual belief. This deen has been sent to us by Almighty Allah (swt) in order for it to be implemented and for the whole of mankind to abide by it.

See, this is why I advocate annexation. Give them full Israeli citizenship with all its attendant benefits, such as genuine voting rights, actual civil liberties, a government that actually gets shit done, and free government healthcare, and I'm not so sure they'll be as keen about pushing the Jews into the sea. Most Israeli Palestinians would much rather remain Israeli, after all. And before somebody comes along and says: BUT WHAT ABOUT THE DEMOGRAPHICS??? The birth rate in the West Bank is steadily falling, while Israel's is steadily rising, and the Palestinian population of the West Bank has been greatly inflated for the sake of stirring the sympathy of Western activists. There would still be a firm Jewish majority even if Israel annexed the West Bank and gave Palestinians full citizenship. Though obviously there would have to be a transition period where they started as permanent residents.
@beslanintruder20772 жыл бұрын
1st response was the best, but I think this will not solve the problem of neighborhoods based on solely on religion or ethnicity. Simple solution for the people in Hebron is not to sell to people you do not want. Ultimately there will cantons where people should be given autonomy regardless of faith or ethnicity. Settlers get what they want, Palestinians get to move out and have freedom as well as right to vote and influence Israeli elections, just like any other polarized country in the world. Two state solution will nto work because the state Israel is trying to give the arabs is ridiculous on a map, doesnt include Jerusalem or refugee solution.

Corey, as much as I like your videos, I don't think it's right to argue with the people you interview. For example: Interviewee: "Jews who were born in Palestine can stay" You: "That's almost everyone" Like, come on... Just let the person talk. Let them think what they want. If they think things that are untrue, that's their problem. You have the right to do whatever you want in your videos, but this is just a little food for thought from a subscriber. More on topic: I'm surprised that so few of them said "THE JOOZ MUST LEAVE OUR HOLY PALESTINE AND I DON'T CARE IF THEY HAVE NOWHERE TO GO". Gives me a little hope.
