There's a lot of things I didn't know or think about. Here are a few: Caulking and painting baseboards after they settle (around year 2) because the caulk will split, buying a ladder to reach all the fire alarms (didn't do it until a battery died lol), getting a fireplace serviced before you use it, finding a good arborist (had a tree split in half in my yard in year 3), buying new window screens because birds will destroy them to make nests :/, the value of underground power lines in the winter or storm season, and just how amazing Hobby Lobby, IKEA, Lowe's and Home Depot truly are. Also, scratch and dent appliances usually give you a deal and the dents are usually unremarkable. My refrigerator was discounted because of a dent that I just cover with my shopping list 😁. Also, depending on how property taxes change, your monthly mortgage may vary year to year but you can always just save and make an extra payment whenever you find out the new amount (property taxes and insurance are paid via escrow where I am, idk I'd that's universal though). Also, down payment assistance programs for first time homebuyers can be amazing. I wouldn't change it for anything though. ALSO before ever considering refinancing your property (especially when its value seems to change) consider if you can afford a house at that new price. If not, don't enter into a mortgage that will reflect something you couldn't afford to begin with. My house has inflated in value because of the market but I chose a home with a specific price range for a reason and prefer to keep that relative mortgage rate. I've seen people lose homes after refinancing because they just saw the equity and nothing else.

You got this Corey! At 29, I purchased a new 4 bedroom 2.5 bath, in 2019. I'm a single woman with no kids, and dealt with the same process. I still haven't furnished my guest room and half bath, but I'm not rushing it. Also, those blinds were ridiculously expensive. I made sure both the appliances and blinds, were included in my house. I wasn't buying them. Just take your time, things will surely come together. Again, congrats on Homeownership! God bless! ❤

Yes blinds are expensive at least you didnt have to get custom because sometimes the windows are different sizes....just by looking at the video, your fridge looks oversized for that space. Makes sure you allow enough room around the fridge for ventilation, 360...and it sticks out a bit far...I learned that the hard way. It is a nice fridge though 🤌🏾

Yes, being a homeowner is a lot of work and responsibility. Definitely take your time with furnishing. There is no rush. Thank God my new house came with blinds already installed! I’ve been in my house 1 year now and JUST put up curtain rods in the master bedroom. Congrats again!

If it’s not to late.. See if you can exchange your refrigerator for GE or Frigidaire. Samsung makes beautiful appliances. They look gorgeous. Don’t hold up well. A Samsung repair man who came to my home to fix one of my appliances said they are the worse. Home is gorgeous. Super proud of your accomplishments. Keep up everything your going. It’s working.

Hi Corey, I've been through the situation with the blinds. Don't make them a priority. Go purchase the paper ones from Lowes or Home Depot. We had ours up for over three years. They look nice and you can concentrate on other things for your house in the meantime. They would have charged you a fortune if they were included in the purchase price. Thanks. I too have that Samsung fridge. The ice maker is horrible. Make sure that you’re a Best Buy Total Tech member. As soon as that ice maker stop or slow making ice, call them. Also change the filter as soon as you’re notified.

Watching on April 15th. Happy Birthday! Celebrated my 30th birthday this year as well. Also I remember what it felt like when I moved out of my Mom's house last year and into my first apartment. It was such a good feeling. I learned that things in life are a process and to find joy during that process because everything in a house or apartment doesn't come together all at once. Stepping out into your own home/apartment is also a process that really strengthens you.

Congrats. What an amazing accomplishment before 30. Dang, I hate they messed up your wall like that. A lot of these big-name stores are hiring secondary movers. I recently purchased furniture and it took them over a week to deliver it. I had to pay 150, plus I tipped each delivery guy 20 dollars since they had some issues getting my furniture set up. I lol at the dryer part. They had no clue what they were doing. Smh

Bro, take a settlement on the damage and fix that yourself with spackle. You can get the paint color if you call the builder. Good chance its Sherwin WIlliams. If its the default paint they use, your local Sherwin WIlliams may have the paint if you tell them the builder and the area where you live. That will pay for your blinds. #beenthere
