is that Galveston Causeway area? thought I saw it in the background. I fish out there a lot. Lots of great spots in and around there plus close to any store or restaurant you might possibly need on the island. Versus say going down to Bryan Beach and being far away from any store. Which I still certainly like Bryan Beach too!

Hey bro. New sub and love the content. What action rod do you recommend for the corky?
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man I really appreciate it! I normally throw them with a moderate fast action rod. I’ve heard the slower rods can help absorb the head shakes from big trout. People throw them on all kinds of action though. From xtra fast to moderate. It just depends what you want the corky to do. The xtra fast rods are typically more sensitive and make the corky more erratic when twitching.

i’ve used corkies in the summer too and caught stuff. Well… ok the one corky that I currently own at least. Like, fire pink and charteuse, can’t remember the specific nickname for it. Planning to buy more though!

Only been fishing for a few years and your content is awesome as im always trying to learn different ways to fish..mainly i go with live shrimp but wanna get better with artificials and soft plastics..any feedback would be much apreciated!

What belt do you use for rod holder on it....does it hold it up good?
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
Its a brand called fish-n-hunt. Ive had this one wading belt of 5 or 6 years. I think I had to replace each rod holder once because the stitching came apart. But they have held up pretty great. I use them a lot.

Here is the link for the backpack I use. I've had it for a year and its been good so far! Its not submersible but it keeps my camera gear dry. www.amazon.com/FE-Active-Waterproof-Activities-Increased/dp/B01LYBFJU4/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=waterproof+backpack&qid=1577076496&sr=8-4

anyone ever try these on stripers.....
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure they would work. They are slow sinking suspending baits. I like fishing them in waist deep water or less. Not sure what water depth y'all target stripers in. If its deeper water you can throw some finishing nails in them to make it sink faster. Also after a handful of redfish they can tear up these lures. Not sure how aggressive stripers are but with how big they get they can probably tear up these lures. It would still be cool to try them though. It would definitely be something different.
