Paused it at 1:13. Idk what conclusion you came to for now but rise tsunami corks are definetly effective. We were using those and the storm cork lures in the Elizabeth river in VA more than 10 years ago slaying real gators. As in at least 28” to be a gator. Only a few of us were using them while people were stuck on mirrolures and plastics. Quality wasn’t nothing to brag about but after 10-12 gators even the Corkys get fubar’ed. Best wade fishing I’ve experienced so far. Looks like I need to goto Texas tho lol. Ok m gonna watch now. Keep up the good vids!
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
I agree they both catch fish! And damn man that's awesome y'all were catching fish like that! Definitely gives you more confidence in a lure when you catch one gator but after 10-12 I would definitely throw them a ton lol. Yeah Texas is awesome! Hope you can make it down some day to wade some flats here!

Love the video,last yr fishing at Port Isabel tx and left my cookies at home,went to Walmart and bought 3 off brand style cookies and limited out on both days,my 2 biggest trout were a 7.6 and a 6.4 pds,so i don't believe it really makes a difference, as long as they eat it
@CaptainVincentRusso Жыл бұрын
I agree with Hugh, the fish have to swim by to bite my wife and I put on seven different lures in a row when they were biting and caught them on all seven different Lures. Check out on KZbin Scott Moody titled swimming by and you will see halfway through the video fish in the top left-hand corner of the screen and we weren’t where they were. You only have to do three things to catch fish. It’s easy, go where they are when they’re feeding and give them something to eat.

I tried it this year I had to put a paint job on it. I got the clear and dipped it in chartreuse dye, put a black back with trout spots and smoked'em.

I have a collection of knockoff lures and inexpensive lures that have similarities to other more expensive lures. There's certain ones that aren't worth it, while there's a variety that are more worth it. Those WalMart Bomber spook lures are amazing for the price. The Berkley Choppo and Kingdom's propbait are just as productive as the more expensive Whopper Plopper. Noeby's 4" bottleneck popper and Kingdom's 5.11" bottleneck are amazing inexpensive plastic alternatives to famous saltwater wooden bottleneck poppers. Krocodile knockoffs have been so-so to me vs the original Krocodile.

This tells me it's all in the presentation, color and if the fish are there to devour either lure. In other words, they'll hit anything if they are hungry enough. You pretty much said the same at the end of your video, before I got to it. LOL

Thanks for the trip out. Nice fish. I don't believe it completely matters what you get in front of a hungry trout . When I was 16 I caught a 20-in trout on a treble hook with a pull top off of root beer can. It would spin through the water similar to a spoon. If they're hungry enough, they will hit it.

Love the new style and content. The vids are getting more polished. Awesome job. Re the lures, fish don't know one is $12 and the other is $1. As long as you are able to get the same action from both, which I see no reason why the $1 knockoff can't walk the dog subsurface, then it's just matter if hungry fish are swimming by at the moment. Color may be more important than brands if both have the same action. My 2 cents, anyways.
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
Agree! My dad and I slayed them on a 15 cent lure a couple months ago. As long the fish are in the area and you give the right profile they want at the right depth they will hit it. It was my first time throwing the tsunami so it took a little adjusting to get the action I wanted. Both were very similar!
@johnkarges20804 жыл бұрын
I appreciate this video, also in increasing my confidence in using them. I've eyed this place, is it conducive to kayaking and then parking on firm bottom to wade. I don't like the idea of being mired in deep mud when fishing alone.
@StixHD4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It can be done but the ground is really soft by the access road where you would launch the kayak. I would launch near the bait stand. Its very firm ground and a very easy launch. It would be a little bit of paddle but I would rather do that than deal with the mud. You could also paddle to the other channel further down.
@johnkarges20804 жыл бұрын
@@StixHD thanks, I'll look for that bait stand location and wherever that other channel is you mention. I struck out completely on Tuesday fishing the jetty at the yacht harbor in Corpus and also at the Oso Bay bridge, but I chose not to wade that day.
