Thanks greetings from Thailand here in Bangkok by the Chao Phraya river we find Stella Maris Seafarer’s Center and Mission.

Hartverscheurend verhaal over wat de patiënten daar in de loop van zoveel decennia ondergaan hebben. Ik vraag mij overigens af of de auteur de foto in zijn boek heeft opgenomen ten behoeve van het realiteitsgehalte van zijn fictie. Misschien heeft hij de foto opgenomen om de ellende die in dat ziekenhuis heeft plaats gevonden aan de kaak te stellen. Er is maar één persoon die de vraag kan beantwoorden en dat is de auteur zelf. Zolang hij dat niet doet blijft de vraag wat je noemt, een enigma of te wel: het blijft domweg gissen.

I wonder whether the author has included the photo in his book for the sake of the realism of his fiction. Perhaps he took the photo to expose the misery that took place in that hospital. There is only one person who can answer the question and that is the author himself. As long as he does not do that, the question remains what you call an enigma, or rather: it simply remains a guess.
