I'm a retired firefighter, 20 years of service, I was not at that TERRIBLE SCENE in New York. But THANK YOU FOR A SHOUT OUT to those Brave men and women!! AMERICA SEEMS to have forgotten, sad but TRUE! I did not know any of those men or women, but in firefighting we are ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! THANK YOU, God bless. Gotta go finish winter rye. And you brought a tear to my eye!.

Whatever camera you were using at the beginning is a great picture, the leaves in the back, brown and green and the faded red of the 1256 look so good. I had a service call today for an ice machine on a pick your own pumpkin farm getting ready to open and they had a JD 4020 for hay rides. I walked over to it after the job and the smell of that old diesel and hydraulic oil... good stuff. Took me right back to grandpa's farm, nice to see there are some full cobbs in that field!

Growing up on our dairy farm my dad would only let me rake hay. As I got into high school he finally let me use the 856 diesel to chop corn! Our diesel had a radio mounted on the fender. Chopping was my favorite job, made me feel like a man! This was back in the 70's. We used a New Holand single row chopper much like yours. Double head sure saves time! Thanks for the memories! Always look forward to your videos.

Back in the 1960s my dad would put Xtra silage in poor man's silo. You would put snow fence in a circle and line it with tar paper. Stack them 2 or three high while filling. That was before ag bags. Or if you were lucky, a neighbor would have a spare silo.

911 was a tough day. Thanks for your comments, Alan!!! Anyone old enough to remember had a permanent scar on their lives. My prayers go out to victims and survivors of this terrible tragedy. Still sends a chill through my body thinking that the plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pa was possibly near our airspace in Ohio. Good to see you moving forward on bagging chopped corn.

You are so right about all of the people we should thank. For some reason, 9/22 hit me harder this year and I was not at the place, but remember seeing it on TV. Enjoyed watching the corn get chopped. Hope things went smooth as possible. Do you measure your children's heights? Jessica looks as if she has gotten taller this summer. Don't know if she is happy or sad about being tall, but I think it is a great thing because I never made it past 5' 4" and believe me taller people have an advantage.
@trinitydairy Жыл бұрын
I can't remember where she's at for height. She has a cousin who's over 6 feet, and Jessica said she wants to be as tall as her.

Random question Why do you use the 1256 on the harvester instead of the 1066
@trinitydairy Жыл бұрын
The cab on the 1066 has poor visibility out the back.
@AldenHayFarmer Жыл бұрын
Do the wheels stay pointed straight on the 1466 when its on bagger? Running a 986 on a bagger and it wanders to the left pretty bad.
@trinitydairy Жыл бұрын
This one stays pretty straight. I do have a twine on the ground marking a line so I can correct it if it starts to go one way or the other.

With the tonnage being down, do you have enough silage to get by this year? Do you have more corn to chop? What about ear corn?
@trinitydairy Жыл бұрын
I think we'll be sitting good on corn silage, I planted extra this year for er corn, but I don't think it will make it, so we'll silage that too.
@Stephenklausmeyer-hr9rb Жыл бұрын
Do you know which part of the corn plant gives the most benefit to the cattle to produce milk?
