For the corn cribs, we wrapped 1" chicken wire around the thing 6ft high. The holes are too small for the deer to pull the cobs out yet big enough to let it breathe.

I did that one year, but I had the chicken wire on the outside, a the deer pulled it all down.

Alan, fantastic deal! The tires and rims were worth 3000. The biofuel is a killer especially to older tractors. You're correct, the longer the biofuel sits in the tank and goes to a tar and then gets hard. I have a 570 Cockshutt that sat for 15 years, all rubber lines had to be replaced the pump and the injectors had to be sent out. It sounds like you may have gotten the problem solved before it got to the pumps and injectors. You will need a strong battery and a glow plug and good fuel, you'll be fine! But the yellow paint has to go! It's probably out there crying! Also if you have a chance to get a product called Miracle Oil, old tractors need sulfur that the new diesel fuel manufacturers lack. Great job, Skip, Western PA

Nice purchase on the 806. That algae is hard to get rid of. I think that Power Service makes a product called Bio-Kill. I and several of my friends used that in our 18 wheelers with good results. Also your fuel supplier should be able to get you something. It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to use something in your fuel barrel for preventive maintenance. Love watching the Uni at work. Corn looks good. God Bless to the family and stay safe. 😉🍀

I will tell you exactly what to use to clean the fuel tank on the 806 . Go to your local hardware store and purchase about two gallons of MURIATIC ACID. Just strap it to a tire like you said and spin it for about a half hour. It'll clean it out like a new tank. I've done this with a few tanks now and they turned out shiny clean.

Just wanting to let you know that I have dealt with bio diesel a lot. I’m a heavy equipment for the US Air Force down here at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and enjoy your videos. The way that we cleaned all of our tanks when they had bio diesel in them was soak it for about a day with purple power and then steam pressure wash after the soak. I hope you’re able to get the 806 fixed up. God bless

Good to see the 806. As a kid used one. That was what my dad had for his big tractor. He added a rooster booster. Basically if you wanted more horsepower you would turn this on which gave it a propane boost. When he had it installed and they tested it the horsepower was 118. Could pull a 21 foot disc without duals. Miss that tractor. Good to see corn picker back in action.

I really like your corn picker, your elevator, your cribs, you could put a tarp where are you unload the corn to the elevator, so that you could keep all the corn kernels that come out of your wagon. Next year, you could put a 12 inch board around the sides, and the back of your wagon to increase the carrying capacity. That would also keep the carbs from flying off the back of the wagon.

Sure looks like a good purchase! And you were blessed to buy it for 5K! (Those new rears cost half of that....) Real steel too! Tricky cab mount....never saw that before. RedKote tank liner if rust is found. Junk bearing rollers and balls (basically what ever will go through the fill tube...) for abrasive tank cleaning. True story: a Tallahassee radiator shop's old proprietor pointed to his gallon + of many years' worth collecting "bits and pieces" pointed to it and declared it his "most valuable assett!" And I believed him after, no, actually even before, he cleaned up a "hopeless' gas tank from a 1954 Intl. One-ton. And trust, there were some weird "bits and pieces" in that gallon! He had fabbed an inclined, slowly-rotating elec. motor driven universal mount that he could strap most anything to .....necessity; the mother of invention. Always enjoy your videos. Here comes (like it or not) Ol' Man Winter! More heating videos soon? Got yer chimney clean? Nevermind, I know you don't have that chore with your super-safe outdoor "kettle." After all, it's not called "Minnesnowta" for nuthin....

When I lived in Western Kentucky on the Mississippi River, the farmers all complained about the crap fuel they sold the farmers. It was full of sediment and just garbage. Their take on it was that they gave the crap fuel to farmers and kept the good fuel for themselves.

Congrats on your purchase and good luck with the 806! Glad you're giving it a good home. You may want to try a mix of high-strength vinegar, Dawn dish soap, and baking soda to get that tank cleaned. Make a small mix of it and try it on the pan that you have sitting and see if it makes that sludgy stuff get liquefied. If it works, put a bunch in the tank and do the strap to the tire trick with some nuts and bolts. Rinse it all out with water then put a gallon or two of gas in there and roll it some more. After all that you should have a good as new tank, assuming the vinegar/dawn/baking soda stuff does the job!

Well I was wrong in my choosing I thought for sure would be a combine but that looks like a really nice tractor looked like it sat inside it was taken care of and I think it'll work real nice for you on the farm. Yeah I heard that biodiesel some bad stuff because you saw what it does ethanol doesn't do that in gas motors but what it does is it dries out all your rubber hoses and then they get hard and crack and then you have to replace them so they're trying to make new fuel that runs cleaner but yet you have more problems with it.
