I love that you are doing organic farming. Thank you.

Organic isn't always good and conventional isn't always bad. Depends on many factors. Yes, I've farmed organic acres for 7 years. Pros and cons

Thanks for the video. When the grain gets to a certain height in the grain cart, more automation should kick in and automatically have the tractor speed vary in order to top off the load in the cart. On another note, that combine could with a 12 row head.

That would be cool! Yes it would but our grain set in Colorado up couldn’t handle that amount of corn per hour unfortunately.

Thanks for the video. That laser weeder seems like it works pretty well. Does it work with pretty much any weeds? On my sandier, lighter fields I always seem to have problems controlling crabgrass. After 2 years of crop I pretty much have to summer fallow so it doesn't get away on me. Do you have problems with it there on your lighter land?
@FehrsFarmingOrganic8 ай бұрын
It will kill any weed/plant that is not corn or the identified plant. We do not struggle with the grass in Colorado, on the sand we struggle with water hemp because our stand isn’t as good so it doesn’t canopy the row as good.

What's the premium per bushel on corn you receive from organic vs non-organic?
@FehrsFarmingOrganic8 ай бұрын
Price per bushel of organic corn is selling for roughly $8-$10 bushel right now depending on location and quality and when you want to sell it. Market works a little differently than the conventional corn market.

What maturity corn do you plant in Colorado? By the way you seem like a natural with the vidios

That last field was 102 day corn!

So, where does the corn go next? Its journey?
@FehrsFarmingOrganic7 ай бұрын
In Colorado it goes to our bin site where it’s goes through a corn dryer and then into a bin for storage! It then goes 10 miles down the road to an organic chicken farm to be turned into chicken feed!

Whats the average bushels needed to break even since propably the cost of production is lower?
@FehrsFarmingOrganic8 ай бұрын
That’s a good question, I know someone on the farm knows… I’m just not that person haha.

What made your uncle move to Colorado to farm and not somewhere else,midwest ,south?
@FehrsFarmingOrganic8 ай бұрын
Land prices in Iowa were high and there was a good opportunity out here. Who wouldn’t want to live in Colorado haha!
