Silage it takes me back. Growing up it was my job to discharge silage from the silo and get the cows fed here in Southern Ontario

The silage wagons I remember had a PTO shaft and unloaded into your silage blower. It must have been quite an experience to work with a blower that had a 1000 RPM PTO; when your silos were over 60 feet tall!

My uncle grew corn for silage he ran the chopper my brother drove the silage truck and I ran the 4020 with dozer blade I did all the pushing and packing the silage was packed so tight we had to use a silage loader to fill the silage trailer that he used to feed the cattle it pto driven .

A farmer wears a lot of different hats, jack of all trades. Takes on just about any break down.

What do you do with the silage if you don't have cattle, does every farm in your country run cattle as well as corn/beans or wheat or only some. I'm from Australia so I don't know how you guys do it over there

I have a question do you prefer a water lube pump or oil lube pump for irrigation I prefer the water lube pump because there was no possibility of oil getting into the underground water supply unfortunately they stopped making the water lube pump many years ago.

Question about Silage. to make tmr you need silage . hay and strw to feed the cow. I wonder how clean it must be? surely the some little oil drip the gets introduce in the silage no?
@parkerrathburn10173 ай бұрын
For sure a small amount but mostly from the feed yard or the dairy equipment
@jarrodwemhoff72703 ай бұрын
It would be so small of an amount it would be impossible to find. It’s only a drop every 5-10 seconds. If the well is in good condition it shouldn’t lose much
