My biggest take aways. Dylan has command of the offense. Forced a couple throws but made a couple in particular that turned in TDs. That throw into the corner of the end zone before the half was a thing of beauty. But my biggest takeaway even before I heard Coach Rhule mention it in the presser..Dylan checked into a run at the line, handed the ball off to his RB who then blasted ahead for over 30yards. You guys, he’s a true freshman and he’s already dissecting defenses pre-snap, going through progressions, and tossing it away when necessary. God it feels great to have a QB who can use his head again.

Overall I believe we finally have the pieces to make a well balanced football team. Dylan can sling the rock and avoid mistakes, The run game is potent and lethal, Dowdell just needs to hold onto the rock, and the defense can smother opponents early and often. I think the CU game will be a great test for where this team is at, We should be able to run the ball and balance the attack with Dylan. and the Defense which is easily top 15-20 caliber could give CU fits.

Have to agree with you that the No. 1 impression I had out of Week 1 was the overall poise and game mentality that Nebraska played with, particularly Raiola. It would be super easy for adrenaline and emotion to creep in and cloud judgement, heck, its derailed far older athletes than a true freshman, but nothing looked super-forced at any point in time for him. If things weren't there, he tossed it away and lived to fight another day. The check-out of the check-out that resulted in getting into a 42-yard run was also impressive and stood out as a not-freshman sort of thing. Overall, I can't remember the last time I watched a Nebraska football game without yelling at the TV about some boneheaded play or another, but Saturday went the distance without me doing so (screaming about turning the ball over in the red zone, on the other hand, well...we'll keep working on that :) ). GBR and beat CU!!

Great breakdown on our Skers as usual. We are weak in Man Coverage and we ran zone coverage after we got beat for that TD. This is what worries me for the Colorado game as their players can Eat Up Zone coverages. Other than that I think NU pulls out a close game in Lincoln Saturday. I’ll be there watching this Game and raising hell for our team. I better not see one person sitting down quiet this week. GBR

#1 takeaway was (for the most part) shutting down turnovers that just killed us, haunted us in recent past seasons. You shut down turnovers, you win. Right under that and sort of related on crappy execution is shutting down penalties. Think both positive or negative can somewhat be attributed to coaching. Yes, coaches aren’t on the field the athletes are but if you just drill making smart decisions and holding the ball till death it sinks in. Penalties were a trademark of the Scott Frost era and to me it screams being undisciplined and again coaches not getting this in their heads enough. Kudos to Ruhle and his staff for bringing back coaching to NE!!! Now let’s just bring back winning too!!!

If I were a coach, personally I wouldn't want to limit the RB room to one guy. It would not only help depth late in the year to have multiple RBs, but it also helps with development and experience to distribute the ball around. Having 3-4 RBs getting carries is a good thing.

All I hear from Colorado is how trash UTEP is and how trash the cornhuskers are and how this win for the huskers is meaningless, when in fact this game has built confidence in the young quarterback and along with the rest of the 100+ players that got to play on Saturday. If Colorado was really good they should've done the same thing to NDSU I realize the bison can compete with almost every FBS school and they have proven it over the years, Colorado had 400+ yards passing they should've scored more points to me that means Colorado had alot of drives they didn't finish which they didn't on a few drives sanders threw a pick and they got stopped on a 4th and short. UTEP might not be the best team but you still have to show up and win. When UTEP scored I could feel a little bit of a momentum change until Nebraska went out there and continued to dominate. @@CornCrazed Yes but he still coached the team to trash Auburn who beat the national champion. No matter how it’s spun it was easier or it was different. That’s the point I’m making is that there were mistakes on his part that he needed to figure out and there were probably mistakes from the politics in the program that we root for that need to change even if someone like Rhule comes in and navigates or gets the changes. We have had major changes. The AD that forced frost into a staff change that clearly made him fail left his back up got caught for domestic violence and then a DUI. The president of the university left. The whole booster program has changed. Athlete funding has had 1890 and the new laws. The facilities are all finished and not having to work around construction zones. I would love to hear what he has to say.

BIGGEST takeaway is we finally have a qb who throws first and not run first, and can actually throw the ball accurately!!... Takeaway is we won our 1st season opener since 2020-21 season.....takeaway is we were - 27.5 so we should have won and won big like we did.....now im not here to sh!t on your we not just making a bowl game this year but the 12 game playoff is in reach thoughts in your previous video but lets pump the brakes here a bit.....takeaway truth is we have to beat colorado and beat them pretty easily with that soft defense they have....takeaway is we will also find out how good our secondary is cause they have a high school teams running game and will be pass super heavy all day.....i expect us to win and win big vs colorado this coming weekend...but until we do we are not back yet!!....and a loss vs.colorado would be devastating and back to the norm in lincoln..and at that point i will give coach clown rhule credit for winning a game vs a good colorado team....GBR

Nebraska sucks dude. You guys are never returning to the Tommy Fraiser, Lawrence Phillips, Black Shirt era. Once you fired Solich your program is doomed. And unlike Texas who took a while to replace Mac Brown, no big time recruit wants to live in Nebraska.

Nebraska just landed one of the top 2 QB's in the entire class and you still wrote this comment

@@CornCrazed HAHAHA results in win loss are the only thing that matters bro. And Nebraska has been IRRELEVANT for 25 years. I'll literally buy you an expensive steak dinner and let you drink the most expensive alcohol the restaurant has if Nebraska ever SNIFFS a National Title game.
