There is no wait in the US - in fact the dr told me today that it is finally time to do the transplant and the hospital said I could schedule for this coming week if I so wanted. And before the Canadians start - with insurance my final bill for the transplant will be $100 which is my deductible.

What kinda insurance do you have? And did you get both eyes?

@@shiesty8573 They do not do both eyes at the same time - they will do one and then the other. Any bronze or higher plan will cover the procedure, I have a $30 copay for specialist so the procedure cost me $30

@@shivan4lyf I have kertaconus in both eyes. I'm 14 years out from my 1st transplant in only 1 this far. The surgery most definitely helped. I took care of my eye after surgery and could see my then 1 year olds pores on his little face within a few nonths. Within 2 years driving at night was no longer an issue. I unfortunately am soon to have a second transplant on the same eye as the transplants cornea has aged beyond my years and I have very poor vision in that eye.
