I so enjoyed watching this owl family from before there was an egg, through all the trials and tribulations of nearby nest predators, watching and listening to the parents communicate, wondering if the dad had been killed or otherwise abandoning his family when Mom was sitting on the egg (I was concerned about a possible nest failure) , to the amazement of so many types of food being brought for young "Owlie", and then watching him wingercise his way into flight. Such an amazing story! Many thanks for these bird cams and folks who make it possible!

We had a nest here by an upstairs bedroom window in a large Norway spruce so we had a bird's eye view of the 3 owlets for about a year! It was fascinating!

I watched it all from France during the winter and beginning of spring. It was quite a ride from the attacks (2) by hawks to the variety of food. Once I became very worried because owlet seemed to have a bone stuck in its throat. I was feeling quite proprietary towards the end and very proud of owlet! - I am aware this is a bit of an absurd feeling ...

I enjoyed watching the live series, and the recap is a great synopsis. Having been a long time viewer of the barred owl cam seeing it as food is heartbreaking because the female and nestlings need the male to bring food. The female cannot incubate and forage. But when I first saw the feathers I thought the female owl had been attacked. These videos are s great way to cultivate appreciation for wildlife.

Awesome video! I had no idea that owl's would bring other bird's to the nest. Just thought it was small prey that owl's brought to the nest. Loved seeing the growth of the owlet.

Wonderful video, thanks. In the fall of 2019, I was graced with a breeding pair of GHO's moving in our tree line community. Since the spring of 2020 I have experienced the seasonal visits of their fledges-juvies (one a year) and their nighttime calling. Then in August, sometimes sooner, the callings stop. I only hope that they have willing left their parents to stake out their own territory. It is this time period that is the great mystery. I wish someday someone could monitor this Exodus of the young adult and its future adventures.

Wasn't this originally an abandoned eagle nest that the reat horned owls took. They had this nest for a few years then the osprey's took it for a couple of years. Now once again the owls are back. I'm glad to see them here. I surely miss Alison and her brother though.

Interesting to see the predatory ruthlessness as it holds up the risks they face from other predators. Frogs n snakes and mice make sense. Other birds including egrets is really amazing. Itis a bird eat bird world out there! ~TEU

🦜@FREAKY it was another type of owl fed to the little one 😐 This kind of surprised me. I did watch this particular season for the first time on the Savannah Osprey nest and did see the egret at the time, but did not know it would feed an owl 🦉 to owlette. Nature never ceases to amaze me 🤷
