Fury didn't have his usual snap in his shots he seemed overt rained. But take nothing from wallin he boxed better than what wilder did. What I love about this performance from fury is when his boxing is not working he grits it out and refuses to be beat. That is a massive mental strength. Take when he got knocked down heavily by wilder in the 12 round. Nobody would have blamed him for staying down but he refuses to and got back up and went on the front foot and won the rest of the round. Most men who get knocked down that heavily either stay down or if they do get up they back off for the rest of the round. Take Joshua against ruiz. No way was he hurt as much as fury was against wilder but Joshua refused to carry on when he could have. It's a massive difference between the two. I believe this fight was perfect preparation for fury for when he meets wilder again.

Joshua doesn’t have the engine that Fury has. He gasses when he gets caught and he gasses when he unloads too heavily. Other than the cut Fury looked as though he could have boxed another 12 rounds. Real testament to the training.

@@EliasVergsen He wasn't that gassed. Wallin was still dancing on his feet through the 12th round while Fury was very flatfooted. Wallin changed tactics between round 6 to 11 to try and worsen the cut so that the ref would break the fight. Had he continued going for body shots instead like the first rounds it could have slowed down Fury enough to win a couple of more rounds. I think Wallin did a great fight and belongs up there at top level. He went full distance, never got knocked down, took hard hits and kept moving forward, made the champ bleed badly with a clean punch.

I love Ben but I know it was after this fight fury realized he needed a new trainer because if that was Wilder instead of walin he wouldn't have made it (edit) I'm coming back here to this comment after fury just TKO Wilder still can't believe Otto wallin put up a better fight than Wilder but changing trainers really did help Fury get his inside game sharp#impressed

Colin Cameron the second cut came from the head two and the continued rubbing of the eye with the glove but I think the main thing is fury wanted to continue and didn’t often look in trouble
@danfors1333
@danfors1333 5 жыл бұрын
Nah, I don't think it had anything to do with that. Tyson's the champ against a nobody in everybody's mind and pretty much declared winner before the fight even began. Even if Wallin would have totally out boxed Fury (which he didn't), the only way to win against a champ is to not let the fight go to decision. It's an unfair advantage a champ always has. Too much money and future plans are invested beforehand from the rich people. The eye rubbing by Wallin was dirty but it evened out the unfair disadvantage a bit. I think it's fair for a challenger who has everyone biased against him to take advantage of a cut he made by a clean punch. He earned the right rub at it a bit. But had it been from a headbut... then no, that would have been a bit too dirty to take advantage of.
@seanireland7019
@seanireland7019 5 жыл бұрын
Dan Fors no he didn’t earn the right to rub his glove in the open wound of a boxer multiple times and the second cut under the eyelid was from a head which he got penalised both times for them but never got a points deduction either time if they where that favoured to fury why didn’t that happen
@danfors1333
@danfors1333 5 жыл бұрын
@@seanireland7019 Fury's half a head taller than Wallin and has reach advantage with his arms. If heads get knocked together it's because Fury willingly put himself at that risk by boxing low and waving his head back and forth at close distance. Fury did a lot of leaning into Wallin with his bodyweight to drain stamina. That's not exactly pure clean boxing either but hey, non of the fighters complained about it. Being gritty is part of fighting. It's up to the ref to warn the fighters if they go too far. If the ref allowed Fury to enter ring with ridiculous amount of Vaseline that smeared all over the place including into Wallin's eyes via clinches and Fury's gloves, then he should also go easy on Wallin for rubbing some of that excess Vaseline off.
