I remember when the first black boy transferred to my school in 1970s Los Angeles when I was in 3rd grade. A week later, our class went on a school trip and one of the girls lost something. I will never forget how the white female teacher grabbed the boy and accused him of theft in such a hate-filled manner. It left a profound impression on me as a child on how blacks were so openly discriminated (I'm Asian American). I have been fighting against racism ever since.

Theresa Lacour the interesting about law is that it’s not illegal to be racist so I don’t think laws can be formed based on that premise alone. It’s hard enough to prove hate crimes in almost every state. A hefty fine should serve as a deterrent from people contacting law enforcement unwarranted. Hey it broke some cops hearts too. I had a run in with one of these types for trimming my hedges cause I use a blade, a jogging couple called the cops. Cops showed up on some chill time, even was, saying that some nosey white people need to mind their business. Now that was crazy cause this is 2 state troopers pissed off saying this, but what took the cake is my 5 year old walked out the house seen the cops and said and I quote "Mom, their not about to kill daddy!" Both of them were shocked, one even teared up, the other races off and found the 2 joggers. He brought them back, they thought it was to identify me, wrong... Soon as I seen them, he asked them to repeat what they told 911. "An angry black man with a sword swinging it around wildly and threating people." the man said. Cop instantly said "Y'all are under arrest for prank calls to 911, harassment, false report, and being dumbasses which this bigoted act could have cost this man his life, his son goes to school with my niece so I should charge you with a hate-crime!" If you didn't see the tears, first the woman sold the man out saying he made the call...but he turned on her saying she agreed even gave him her phone... And even though I said I'm good with just the harassment charge, he told me I better teach them a lesson and follow thru with all charges... They got 3 out of 5 charges he put, and had to take classes plus write me and my family an apology letter, and a separate letter to my son apologizing. *Sidenote* I know the cop's niece cause she gotta crush on my son. This little girl is scary, and crazy. Just imagine The Grudge, Annabel, The Ring, Carrie, and any female from any movie where the guy thinks the girls cute, the girl likes the guy but ONLY approves of his family being around him. She don't want no girl not even the teacher to speak to my son, she ice-grilled his sister and aunt. And pushed a little boy off the slide for arguing with my son. She called my son her husband, and said they gonna have 4 kids and 2 dogs.
