You're so right. Even during the Clinton campaign 8 years ago, I didn't really feel any joy. It was like watching someone drive along a cliffside trail, never knowing if or when they'll drive off. Biden gave me some hope, but it wasn't a joyous experience. It was tense, and excruciating watching the electoral votes getting counted, and then of course the fallout that led up to the January 6th insurrection. Personally, I have just as much hope as I did in 2020 when Biden ran against Trump. Thank goodness Joe won! But now with this new ticket and their energy, I know what you mean. I’m now gonna go on a tangent that I HOPE at least a few Trumpers read. I was very hopeful and excited when Biden won the Democratic nomination in 2020. Normal, intelligent and kind people, people who are familiar with how government works, and longtime politically engaged people couldn’t take anymore of Trump’s lies or his immature, unpresidential and reckless behavior. His divisiveness, his constant name-calling, the way he repeatedly embarrassed us on the world stage, his constant lying, his inability to understand the importance of diplomacy, his lack of respect for the office of POTUS, his inability to understand both complex and even simple issues - including how tariffs work, why we don’t praise dictators, and why we stand by our intelligence agencies instead of standing in front of the global press and taking the word of a longtime adversary who SIGNIFICANTLY meddled in our 2016 election was WAY beyond acceptable! His obvious and documented inability to read well, which likely explains his unwillingness to read his PDB’s (daily briefings), his inability to process information presented to him by highly experienced and intelligent advisors and cabinet members, his total lack of integrity and his unwillingness to follow the basic rules AND the law are major flaws that should disqualify him from being POTUS. When we add to the mix Nostradumbass’ pre-election claims that the election was “going to be rigged” and that if HE didn’t win, it was “rigged” even though he was almost always trailing in the polls by 10 pts and taking into account that he basically talked his supporters out of voting by mail although Covid was rapidly spreading while he was still holding super-spreader rallies, it’s not at all surprising that he lost the election. And after he lost, after he’d failed to prove any fraud that would’ve changed the outcome of the election, he STILL refused to commit to the peaceful transfer of power and ended his presidency by fomenting an attack on the Capitol building in an attempt to overturn a secure and fair election. It’s inconceivable that this felonious and vile man still has supporters and is the nominee of a major political Party. And I never even got to his refusal to hand over highly classified national security documents that he’d been subpoenaed for. We’ll defeat this menace and restore our hope in mankind. ✌🏼💙🇺🇸⚖️

I love what Lawrence said about the selfless, honorable President Biden praising VP Harris and Governor Walz. And, yes, they were both amazing at the Philly rally. Positive, forward-looking, cogent, and unifying speeches. I hope more people are listening to this positivity and the common sense policies theyll institute -- if we vote for them. I definitely will!!
