Cornet3 Kickstarter

I'm in the process of ordering the parts to build up a Cornet3... What tube set would you recommend as a decent budget set to start with? Thx!

Good question. When on a budget, look to current production types such as JJ or EHX. I prefer the "Mullards" from EHX for my production. NOS (new old stock) from the 50's and 60's is the best way to go if you have the cash.

@@hagerman_amplification I built a Cornet octal years ago, the best sound is when I use late 50s to early 60s Sylvania 6SL7 on the gain stages and 6SN7 on the output. Truly an outstanding circuit Jim, you are a genius.

​@@hagerman_amplificationthanks! I ended up with a set of JJ ECC803s and ECC802s for the 12ax7 and 12au7 locations respectfully. We'll see how they work! 😊
