I just stumbled across your videos. Mark's obvious joy in what he does, and the fact that he's working glass in a dress shirt and slacks, makes this really enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for letting us lay people watch, learn, and enjoy.

This Guy is the kind of teacher you wanna learn from. He reminds me of all my fave teachers throughout school. The ones who's classes I never skipped to go smoke or hang out at the mall.

It was a blast making this video! The CMOG AV crew was awesome to work with in the studio. They can dance around our Glass circus with ease and make it look like we know what we're doing! The Pulls that were on the demo were the best of the day!

I have always wondered how the spirals in glass were created. Thank you for this video! What an amazing art! I really wish I could get into working with glass. Those spheres are stunning!

@TheMorbiousStone Thanks for your feedback, we're including final shots of the demo pieces when we can. For this demo, we posted a photo of the cane and of a marble that Mark Matthews made with the cane on our website: www.cmog.org/event/live-streamed-studio-demonstration-mark-matthews-1

I fully agree with you. Too often we see the piece going in the kiln but we don't get to see it once it has cooled down and regained the intended colors.

I feel bad that at first no one was paying attention to him, just talking with themselves while he was looking around for someone to help him. Here this great artist is showing how to do his work and others are slowly looking around like they are waiting for a bus, kind of disrespectful
@JN-jl1vx8 жыл бұрын
VeganMarcella andMore maybe because the first steps are pretty simple steps that you do for alot of different pieces. They could also have heard the same thing before and he's just doing it for the camera.

@corningmuseumofglass7 жыл бұрын
They are students in Mark Matthews' class at The Studio. The Live-Streamed Studio Demonstration series is a chance for anyone around the world to sit in on a class here in Corning, every Wednesday morning during the summer session for free. You're invited to watch as The Studio’s internationally renowned faculty demonstrate for their classes ranging from furnace sculpting to flameworking to any other variety of glassblowing techniques. If you're interested in taking a class, visit www.cmog.org/classes, and thanks for watching!

In that case I would be looking for a personal reference (just make sure it states that it's personal and not work related). Are there any charities, church groups, school parents associations that you are active with? Depending on the job, the references may not be important, but I still want to see a referee even if I don't call them. I have found them unreliable in the past, and even found some co-workers pretending to be managers. As I said if the latest supervisor isn't on there, I'd ask the question. In your case I'd ask what you've been doing in the last couple of years and if it's a reasonable explanation I'd move on.

This guy is grunting and sounds so annoyed snd rushed. He doesn't look fun to work with either barking orders and not being a team player. Shouldn't you enjoy your work/artform and even find it fun and relaxing? He's so impatient and has this Attitude like he's annoyed to be there. I don't usually leave comments but he is just that awful.
@timcapell6 жыл бұрын
Christeen Bjorn agreed. It’s like he is grinding out a 8-5 job at work. Once this art become work it takes the creativity out of it. Enjoy what u do. Not become a slave to it lol

I like a man's narration better than a women's because the voice is nice to listen to and the women have like some what high picted noise going on and it gets irritating after a while.
