Thanks mate! I think that was why the footage tailed off as the comp went on, I was too focused on the fishing to even think about putting the gopro on much of the time 🤣

Brilliant job!! You had some stiff competition there, although they were probably the smallest fish you caught I was impressed with the two spot & Montagu's Blenny, hardly see them on KZbin so well done for documenting them & that Tompot was well hacked off at being caught!! Really enjoyed that as usual & I bet you was pleased to cross the border & kick some Cornish butt!!

Cheers mate! Yeah it went right down to the wire, was pretty full on! I think I'm still recovering now 🤣 yeah I was intending to try and get some underwater footage of stuff like the Montys but sadly a lot of my intentions went out the window once I got immersed in the competition! It was a brilliant experience though and still cant believe I managed to catch 20 odd species and win the thing 😁

@@DevonLerfer It has been awful! I was fishing Chesil Saturday for the Cod. All I got was Whiting and Straps. My mate had a 4lb Codling, but 6 rods between the 3 of us was hectic with the smaller fish.

@@nemesisslr fair play on getting out there mate! It would be interesting to see how good the LRF fishing would be in those conditions but I fear my 2g jigheads wouldn't get very far 🤣

Cracking vid once again! Might have to pop down next year and fish it. I miss Fowey, used to go as a kid each year and spend hours on the ferry slip, Polruan pontoon etc etc. Some serious fishing down there!

Well done Rich, top effort there mate. I've only managed one LRF session in clear water from the docks in the past 5 weeks, the water has been constantly coloured since the end of September, hopefully we'll have a better Nov/Dec and the Coalfish will show up again. 👍

Ah yeah, I should've left the scores up a bit longer! I finished up level on 20 species with Will but I one on count back based on individual scores for each species, scraped it by a few points 😁 thanks mate 👍🎣

Ben would love it to be a Coalfish but that big curved lateral line is a big identifying feature of a Pollock I believe mate. Thanks very much 😁 tight lines 👍🎣

Thanks mate! I'd thoroughly recommend coming down, it's a brilliant weekend and everyone is really friendly and helpful. We just booked up a Premier inn that was fairly central and used that to get a few hours kip and a decent fry up to start the day 😁 we only came from Devon though lol

Devon Lerfer nice one, We’ve holidayed in Cornwall before and I’ve always caught well in the limited time I’ve had available (met up with Will once and he showed me some extra areas in the place we were staying that helped me chalk a few extra species up). I’ll see if I can convince the wife to let me come down for it, might see if I can bring a pal down as well. 👍

@@DevonLerfer thanks, I have some perch dropshot setup so I'm thinking I should get something smaller for the smaller species, you fish much during the winter months?

@@ipmoroca yeah it pays to go smaller I think, stuff like the smaller Wrasse species, Gobies and other mini species have small mouth so dropping down helps increase hook ups. Yeah I fish all year round mate, as long as conditions are ok, the fishing can still be decent. In fact, late December and into January were probably the best months of the year for me over the last year or so, plenty of hungry Bass and Pollock, even a few Mackerel. I think I had 9 species one day in January, the fish were still feeding hard 🙂 March and April are probably the slowest months.

@@DevonLerfer now that's good to know, I kept watching some of your videos and was quite encouraging to see you fishing in the colder months too. Any recommendations as to where I should get those hooks/brand? Also ever seen anyone using a weedless dropshot rig?

@@ipmoroca yeah I really enjoy fishing through the winter months, less people, less weed in the water and the fish tend to be a bit bigger. I just slow everything down a bit. I usually use kamasan b525 hooks for my dropshotting, nice fine gauge but strong. I have heard of weedless hooks being used for dropshotting although I've never tried it myself, I can see where it my be useful though!
