Good day lovely Cornish walkers, oh, to be in Cornwall eating pasties and sipping some local ales while sitting on one of these fabulous benches. My wife commented that, when you were on the Fowey ferry, that Sarah’s hair was lovely. And Andrew, you look so handsome clean shaven. Please keep making such enjoyable videos that my wife and I can enjoy from Canada. Thank you 😊

Hi Sarah and Andrew. I use to sit on the bench in Penzance every night looking over towards St Michael's Mount and near the train station. I use to relax before I popped in to the pub for a quiet drink to end the day. I found it very relaxing.

Mine is an unusual one. Padstow, just arrived & parked up. Straight to the Chough Bakery for a pasty and sat balanced on a windowsill looking out at the harbour, in the light drizzle, eating a prize winning pasty. I remember it clearly as I was delighted to see a Razorbill, on the harbour sand with the tide out. I was happy.

How good it was to watch today - our weather has been dull and wet - the video was entertaining. & sunny. just right. Nice to see the doggies and to see some footage of your younger selves. Our favourite bench is to see it empty when we get there ha ha!! so really anywhere - the views are always amazing in beautiful Cornwall. Keep up the good work guys- brilliant

Fisherman at St Ives, what a spectacular day. The ones we dream of having when down in Cornwall. Unfortunately, despite visiting for the first part of school summer break from the Midlands, we often had Cornish mizzle rather than glorious sun. And also, back here they were sweltering in summer heat. Didn't stop us returning year on year though. Take plenty of towels to the beach and you have blankets. I've needed more times than I can remember. Body boards make good umbrellas when disappearing from Sennan, that I can remember.

I've read all The Poldark series twice. Once when the first series was done and then revisited on the second. Along with a series called Flambards it remains my ultimate series to rematch, something I rarely do other than less than a handful of films. Despite visiting Cornwall every yearly from 2003 to 2019 I have realised on watching your channel, how much I have yet to see. Unfortunately I live nearly 300 miles away so a day trip is well and truly off the cards. I'm hoping that once some drastic changes to my current life happen I get to return at least once a year for an extended period.. 2018 and 19 we are there for four weeks, our time extended as children became adults and the husband retired. Great video as always, thank you

My favourite bench in Cornwall is the one in front of the church in St. Column Minor by The Farmers Arms. As a teenager it was the central place for meeting all your friends from the village and hanging out on a summer evening. We would all meet there most nights before going on somewhere else or more often just sitting watching the world go by and having fun with your friends. I wonder if any of the other people that used to hang around here in the early eighties remember this.🥰

Thank you for this wonderful walk along memory lane. I have been to all these places except Polperro. It is really hard to pick a favourite. But the view of Nanjizal beach and the Song Of The Sea cave is one of them. We were there this June hoping for a swim. But on that day we had strong winds, rain, waves and high tide so we chose to be wise and not do it. This was lovely to watch. Thank you. Torunn 🥰

Memories. Precious things. Such a great video on a theme of benches in Cornwall! As each one came along, I kept saying, ''Oh! We've sat there!'' but there were a few I haven't been to. Strangely the one I should have sat on (as I am such a Poldark fan!) but never have, is the Winston Graham one! My favourite bench has to be Porthgwarra, where we sat for lunch on a lovely sunny day a long time ago, so was pleased to see you had included that! Lovely to see you both (& the doggies!) doing what you (and us!) love best, walking through glorious Cornwall telling us tales of yore. x J x😊

My cottage is half cob. It is incredibly sturdy. Obviously, it has to be rendered, but if there is any damage to the walls and moisture gets in, it will collapse even though it needs to remain damp. Also, a lot of cottages are sealed with double glazing and have central heating and this can cause the walls to dry out too much and make it fall down. I should imagine the little cottage was subjected to a lot of storms in its time and was a very perilous place to live. Must have been incredibly lonely for the wife. Quite a sad story. Sarah, I love your description of the benchy boat 😂🤣. You get to some amazing little places. I feel quite embarrassed as a fellow Cornish not getting out and seeing more. I can't think of a specific favourite bench. Tracey x

I think benches are the domain of the local council : where they can be sited and their installation. I may be wrong of course. They are a wonderful idea especially when dedicated to a person(s) as a remembrance. Sorry don’t have a favourite, I’m always just happy to sit myself down somewhere nice 😁 Super compilation, many thanks 🙏

Though not as scenic as yours, one of my favourites is in St Anthony's Gardens Penzance opposite the Art Deco Lido, looking out to sea and people watching. Hi guys, really enjoying this compilation video. Funnily yesterday I was rewatching some older vlogs going back 5 years, when it was more about having fun than about local controversy. I hope you will do a fun Christmas video perhaps to a different cornish stately home at Christmas or some more lights. For local controversy what do people in the county think about the lithium mines at St Austell? It sounds like a good opportunity to bring much needed jobs to the area for young people? Ps viewers please make your own comment in a fresh box below rather than reply to my comment box.
