Hi dude, I hope all is good with you?! There’s no short answer to this question, but I’ll try to not write an essay. Statistics, bells, dings and whistles aren’t really important for me, and here’s why….. A reasonable amount of effort goes into crafting these videos as my intention is to preserve memories and hopefully motivate people to get involved and ride. This then helps to strengthen the local BMX scene, indoor park and shop. As there’s no financial elements to consider, I’m just really thankful for being involved in a scene and that my obsession with documentary photography has some sort of purpose. It’s a genuine labour of love, for myself. The reason for longer format / crafted feature videos is that they’re honest and they portray whatever is happening in a healthy way. This type of video will always trigger emotion, especially retrospectively. From a conscious perspective, I can’t release anything that adds to ‘scroll-culture’ or whatever it’s called. Quick / Short videos are designed to harvest time, attention and energy away from whoever is ‘clicking’ and consuming them. From a producer standpoint, I personally see this as an immoral thing to do to people. I want the videos to give, not take. Sadly, hardly anyone wants DVDs, so the internet is all we have. It’s just a case of being responsible with it and fight the assimilation at all costs. Much love, Steev
