Do we need motorised vehicles at all on an island of 2 square miles?

It is odd that there are so many cars over there. Particularly given everything you need is in Hugh Town and everywhere else is only half an hour's walk away...

​​@@cornwallguideWent there last week. The minibus from the airport charged us £36 for a one mile trip. Ripped off. We'd have walked into town had we realised how close it was. I'd say st marys is about 5sq miles. With everything so close you don't need a car

Yes, right. Same here in Germany. You actually pay more when you´re vacationing in Sylt or Helgoland than flying to Ibiza or Gran Canaria....

How can you compare the Isles of Scilly to the Canaries? Two completely different holidays. It's expensive for a reason, it cannot do mass catering or mass accommodation like the canaries.
