What Coron makes unique, is the landscape, a bit similar to El Nido but Coron is a slowdown,El Nido is just busy with more tourists and backpackers....

Coron island is all natural with its paradisiacal rock formation and sharp limestone cliffs while Maldives what makes it beautiful with its amazing man made overwater villas and bungalows. They have both amazing corals and marine life.

Coron is synonimous to El Nido due to its majestic limestones, the landscapes are a bit similar,the lagoons, the waters are bluish-green…Balabac island beaches are the Maldives of the Philippines, the purely white powdery sands in the middle of nowhere,very raw, remote and secluded which is too far from the civilization nearer to Sabah Malaysia…

Coron is very similar to El Nido yes, but doesn't seem to be quite as busy with tourists yet! Didn't make it as far south as Balabac on this trip, think it's even more untouched by tourism due to it's remote location. Maybe next time! 😉

Hello couple, just curious about sewer system of any house above waters. Everytime toilet seat is flushed, where the waste goes? Also the used water from sinks? Any pipe system goes far away to a septic tank?

Hi, thanks for watching. Waste water from flushing the toilet and the shower and sink drains is collected in a tank under the houseboat which is emptied daily by specially equipped boats and taken to another island where they have septic tanks and a sewage treatment plant machine. Paolyn Houseboats really take their environmental responsibilities seriously and are 100% eco-friendly. That's why it was such a privilege to stay there!😅

Wow!How I wish we can stay there 1 day. Just wondring if how they keep these boathouses safe when there's a storm, they are mostly made of bamboos and woods, how can they withstand a strong typhoon? And how did a foreigner in the Philippines was able to do a project like that? Just curious, how a project and a business differs for a foreigner to do in the country, I know that a foreigner can't solely own a business, must be a joint with a Filipino citizen and has lesser share, interesting.😊

It's a beautiful place to stay! The houseboats are anchored by strong ropes, but I guess in a typhoon they would probably have to close down to guests. The Italian man's partner/wife is Filipina, we actually met her when we were having lunch in the restaurant as they both are usually around working and talking to guests, very hands-on.😊 I hope you have a chance to visit sometime! 😊

It's natural as humans that when we explore a new environment, we try to draw familiarity from things and places we've already experienced. We intended this comparison in a positive tone but apologise if it has caused you offence.😢
