U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft conduct an air refueling mission with F-15E Strike Eagle, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and AC-130 Gunship.
St. Elmo’s Fire is a weather phenomenon where a glowing blue or violet light appears near sharp edges or points, such as an aircraft’s wingtips, nose, or antennas. It occurs during thunderstorms or heavy electrical activity when the surrounding air becomes ionized, creating a visible discharge of static electricity. While visually stunning, it is harmless to the aircraft and its systems.
