The Turpins return to the street in a police car. Betty (Betty Driver) tells Arthur Walker (Jack Allen) that the Coach driver Reg Ellis died. Minnie (Margot Bryant) is still unconscious with Ena (Violet Carson) refusing to leave her side. Jack (Arthur Leslie) can't sleep due to Stan’s (Bernard Youens) snoring. Discharged, Dickie (Nigel Humphreys), Ken (Bill Roache), Hilda (Jean Alexander), and Annie (Doris Speed) head home by train. Stan worries about his arm and Audrey (Gillian McCann) reassures Dickie of her love for him. Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) is in a side ward with a fractured pelvis. Elsie (Pat Phoenix) feeling better, dismisses her upcoming court case, making Dot (Joan Francis) feel guilty. Ray (Neville Buswell) has spinal damage and has been taken to an orthopaedic hospital. Annie and Hilda exaggerate their injuries. The doctor (Paul Darrow) tells Ena that Minnie will recover but will stay hospitalized. Stan enjoys his hospital stay. Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) feels guilty but Jack reassures her. Albert's (Jack Howarth) complaints earn him a side room. Elsie begins to suspects Dot of the theft and refuses to postpone her hearing. Minnie finally regains consciousness relieving Ena.
