I only watched this earlier today so can give quite a few details of episode.Maggie Clegg is annoyed with Lucille over her getting a job by faking a reference from Maggie.Jeery is still banging on about his boat and Alan breaks Stan's window by accident of course.I don't know was it mistake in 1980 Martin Cheveski stayed with Elsie for a time.Was it meant to be Paul and they got the name wrong?.As Linda only had 1 son I believe.A problem with long running shows I guess.Different production teams don't always check the names of characters seen very little.Decent episode anyway.

21:52 A brave decision by the director to cut straight from 16mm to OB video - lampshaded by Stan calling after Lucille. I wonder how many viewers of the time noticed? Apparently, there are still people to this day who never noticed the picture difference between film and video. I have to say, even as child I did - but I just assumed that was what "outside" and "inside" looked like when on TV.

It may simply have been a necessity based on timescales, deadlines, broken equipment and such like. I doubt most people noticed as much in the '70s as they were likely watching on smaller, low quality sets, and were more interested in the content rather than a slight difference in film quality. Switch the KZbin video to 144p :) Some people notice more than others, or in different situations and circumstances.

I always assumed Linda had two children; one Paul and the other Martin. I remember the episodes when Martin came to stay. I do wish that the writers would do proper research. They may forget, but we the viewers don't. It always annoyed me the way the writers decided to change Maggie's son Gordon, to Betty's son that she adopted out to Maggie. If that was so, then the conversation with Bet Lynch in this episode would not have taken place. Another case of dumb writers who don't bother to research.
