She says that to Derek and she falls for a man who wants to murder her. Anyone with eyes could have seen he was a bad person from a mile off, he was two timing her with Gloria, said she was old and no one would want her when Rita rejected the first time he proposed and the worst thing is that he unleashed his she beast of a daughter on Rita. Yea....

I don't see how Gail can be so unreasonable with Brian - she is the one at fault. He is the wronged party in the whole mess, so she really doesn't have the right to yell at him!

Blame her mother for giving her an abnormal childhood. Blame herself for jumping into marriage before growing up. I guess this is the stuff of Soap Operas.

For me, this is the point where Gail changes from being (very) irritating to incredibly annoying, and then goes on to spend the next 30-40 years with the same sullen look etched on her face, through which passes that moaning, shrieking voice that feels like a cheese grater on your ear drums.

Gail was quite happy to lipsticks, take Nick and run off to Australia with Ian. Now she says" I never stopped loving you Brian and I want you back". She's also playing the victim, as if Brian going to Scotland was a case of desertion and neglect. Pathetic and badly written storyline.

Yes, a total knob, he and Audrey treated Hilda dreadfully over this. Audrey didn't seem to give a shit that she made her look ridiculous and ruined her special night, and Alf was only interested in how tight fisted he could get away with being.

Who was writing these storylines back then, 14 year olds? First rule of staying happily married Keep your gob shut until there's no other option. Why destroy another person if you don't have to. Keeping your guilt to yourself is kinder in the long run.

Many couldn't live with the guilt so tell their husbands, but I don't reckon that's the case with Gail. I think she tells Brian out of spite, and so that he agrees to her doing away with the baby, as that's what she wants to do.

I don't know why certain people bother watching these what with their fragile characters. There's certain things I don't agree with, phrases etc that are alien to me but I don't take to the comments section with my indignant outrage. Some of us are intelligent enough to realise we are dealing with another era, an era I actually wish had never passed despite the oh so shocking language and attitudes of course...🙀😱🤡

I watch just for the attitudes/phrases/morals/values/outlook on life(excluding the Womens lib nonsense they are pushing so hard by this time. The 60’s/70’s was the best era) It’s refreshing to watch this time, I think we have only gone backwards and gotten worse. “Progress” my eye.
