Charlie was a strange one. Absolute evil piece of work but every now and then became a hero - Standing up for Roy against this guy, stopping Rita (Might have been Emily) from being mugged by a gang of youths, saving Dev/Sunita from a fire.

I must say, but I find it odd that if Charlie pulled earrings from Shelley's ears, that he didn't continue to physically abuse her, and it was all mental abuse from then onwards. Surely if he has the mind to do that, then he has the mind to beat her up?

coronation street is a small street in northern england. It would be totally impossible for all those murders and series assaults . It is my opinion. that the writers exaggerate some of the storylines . The original writer of coronation street was writing about the hard working people of northern england. A lot of the early viewers have abandoned watching the show .I came back to watch the show after a few year's doing other activities.

Odd that Martin wanted Katy to have an abortion but he never wanted Gail to when she was pregnant with David. And he was years younger then. You’d think a young bloke wouldn’t want a kid but Martin did. But he didn’t want to be a Dad when he was a more appropriate age at 36. Martin was weird! 🤦🙄
