I was lucky enough to be part of the field testing group for this. This is easily the best watch for the price…and 100% competes with a lot of more expensive watches. I have an Apex 2 Pro and now find myself using the Pace 3 as my daily watch instead. The heart rate monitor is, by far, the most accurate on any watch I’ve ever used (Apple Watch, Garmin Fenix 7 & Forerunner). It was always spot on with my chest strap. The screen is crisper and the dial is more responsive than my other Coros watches. I never had any issues at all with GPS tracking either. Overall, just unbeatable value in my opinion.

Right now I’m using Strava and Poalr H10 chest heart rate monitor, so I get a map and HRM would like a watch and more lace and tracking capabilities. Can you convince me to use a watch? I feel like I would still end up carrying phone somehow although I don’t like holding phone all the time

I have an Apex Pro, is it much brighter and crisper, I know the HR must be much more accurate? I am debating between Apex 2 or 2 Pro or Coros Pace 3. I do not think I will need the TOPO maps I wonder how much HRV gives you?
@15KJ
@15KJ Жыл бұрын
@@NYyankee02The watch will give you what you already have, but all in one place/app. No need to worry about the HRM or Strava when you can do both in one location. If you’re looking for your first GPS watch, this is easily the best option. Everything you need, nothing you don’t…at a reasonable price tag
@15KJ
@15KJ Жыл бұрын
@@jasontwooI have an Apex 2 Pro and the screen on the Pace 3 definitely looks crisper to me. Especially when outside and glancing down at your wrist. I personally don’t use maps all that often either. HRV is an interesting metric that I keep track of but only as an FYI (it doesn’t change my behavior or anything). I would say it comes down to the build materials you want. If you want a more premium feel/look, go with the Apex 2/Pro because of the metal case. But if you don’t care about that, Pace 3 is more than enough.

What we perceive we need versus what we actually need: I think I remember you talking about this about a year or so ago. At $229, the pace 3 is exactly what most people need. For me, it’s a very tempting AWU alternative watch, something to take on longer trips or runs. I’d look at this before an Epix Pro due to features you get for the price. That’s just a steal!

How does it measure heart rate throughout the day, I heard somewhere it does this at something like 10 minute intervals outside of activities? Is this true and can it be set to measure at higher intervals like every minute for example when sleeping? I'm thinking about things like sleep apnea, 10 minute interval might not be enough to notice some spikes.

Looks like a solid upgrade. I've still got my old Coros pace 2, it was my first proper running watch, although my main daily driver is now a Garmin Epix Gen 2. Overall I prefer Garmin's multi-sport ecosystem, though Evolabs is improving all time, and I think if you just want to stick to running, in some ways it is superior to Garmin's. Another thing I've found was the optical heart season on the pace 2 was rock solid for me where as on Epix it is terrible especially during intervals. The only retrograde step here is the removal of Ant+ sensor support. The great advantage of Ant+ is once you connect a device using Ant+ it stays connected.
@maxfreeman6343

It looks like that there is no need in ANT+ after Bluetooth was updated to ver 5. The main difference between ANT+ and Bluetooth used to be the ability to connect to several devices (sensors) simultaneously, but now Bluetooth can do it too.

Kinda depends on your preference. The Garmin has more bells and whistles and customization. I switch from Coros to Garmin 255 . I'd say go for Garmin 255 . 1.3' screen make alot different to see while you running also Gps on 255 is as good as all Garmin top of the line like Fenix 7 (pro ) Epix & even wrist heart rate is work better on Garmin 255 . ( I'm own Coros Apex pro - - -Apex 42 for few years before I switch back to Garmin ) hope is help.

I started to look at some watches, there is so many options right now, wanted some under 250/300€, want one to use while cycling (mostly Hear rate and keep track of fitness) and that has also good day to day track of my body like sleep, stress and so on, what do you think is the best option?

Such a feature with that price point is a great luring to its buyers. However it would have been great if Coros introduce trade in like feature at near future.

I prefer the newer style Velcro strap. Its has a cleaner, more wrist hugging profile without the bulky plastic attachment pieces the old nylon has.

Ok, so I can get a Place 3 for the same price as a Fenix 6. I am not a hard-core athlete, but I do like the looks of the Fenix. heart rate and GPS accuracy are kind of important to me, but not dealbreakers. Just not sure if the old technology that probably will not be supported much longer would be worth it versus the new technology. I have some history in the Garmin ecosystem, but I can always change. I know it’s a tough question, but help?

I can't see Garmin selling the Forerunner 265 for 470 Euro any longer. That watch is way overpriced, despite the nice display. Hopefully Garmin reacts in some way. The Forerunner 55 is still using Garmins old and much more inaccurate sleep tracker. Also, it lacks a LOT of sports profiles, like strength training. It's not a real competitor to the Pace 3. The Pace 3 seems more on par in terms of features with the Forerunner 255, which costs more and lacks a touchscreen (for whoever likes it).

Once you had Amoled you can't go back to PIP. I will stick to my Cheetah Round, same price, lower accuracy (mostly in elevation). My eyes are not getting better and with Pace 2 I was struggling to read anything on that screen during workouts. Another downsize would be the focus Coros puts into running metrics neglecting Cycling, Swimming and other sports.

In some ways I agree but I also like transflective displays when running or hiking because it's always on and I can see things easier at a glance. The OLED is much nicer for every day casual use though.

same with me...I am 58 and can only recognize activities by the icons on the watch. I am also a triathlet and don't see swimming and cycling will be taken into account of fitness = useless. I had a look on Garmin 965 and this was great for me as I was able to read everything so much clearer :-).

If it had the most basic smart watch function of answering and placing a call then I'd definitely get it. They can keep packing in features all they want but if it cannot initiate a call then it's always going to miss the mark.

I have an apple watch 8 I use with the stryd foot pod and app (not tied to stryd), because I like it better than the apple workout app for running. Was a garmin user, but wanted a nicer screen so went to AW 8. But, I am a little over screen and prices. Your video made me question if my next watch should be a Pace 3, but unsure about switching between ecosystems. Thoughts on switching from Apple to Coros, or stryd really to Coros? Anyone's thoughts are helpful.

I have a question. I like to listen to music while I run. Can the Coros Pace 3 send my android cell phone alarm prompts while interval training? Or is the watch loud enough where I will hear it anyway? Mind you I would like it to come through my headset not to interrupt others at the track. Thanks!

@ChaseTheSummit
@ChaseTheSummit Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no, there's no music control function on any of the COROS watches including Pace 3. It's more of a simple MP3 player built into the watch without a phone integration.

Did you have any issues with display brightness? Just got the watch and really like the feel of it (haven’t worked out with it yet), but think the dimness of the display is going to be an issue even with raise to brighten and back light adjustments. Possible Coros might update allowing for greater control of display brightness? I’d be willing to sacrifice a couple days of battery for this. Thanks.

MIP displays take some getting used to. The Pace 3 actually has one of the nicer displays for MIP. These are super functional for direct sunlight and inherently always on but they don't hold a candle to AMOLED displays like on the Apple Watch when it comes to vibrance and "pop"!
