I have just ordered one but I am still on the fence about keeping it or not. From the info I have collected so far it looks like it would be something cool for stats nerds and for people who just want to have that redundancy when it comes to live data - but mostly pace. Some people bought and think it is useless while some seem to be quite happy. I think this can be a hit or a miss 50/50 but we will see. The only aspect that bothers me so far is the fact that one needs to buy add-ons to have accurate info from something that should do that on its own in the first place which is the GPS watch.

What's your return window? I'd say it's a big maybe. Maybe if you really need more accurate pacing details. 🤷♂️

@@mlegrand my return window is pretty much opening de package and closing it again. I am almost sure they do not allow me to try it and play with it. I think, in case of return, the box needs to be sealed.

I’ve been curious about a foot pod for trail running. I get pretty bad GPS data in Forest Park. It would be interesting to see a video comparing accuracy of foot pods versus watches in various conditions and whether those can actually solve those problems. I’ve been hearing more and more about running power. Somewhat odd they didn’t include that in this device if they’ve already developed it for their watches.

Yes, it is odd that Coros is moving away from power. 😬 I am planning on doing a run in a dense urban area with this footpod and a few watches but most of the modern duel frequency GPS watches do pretty well. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment Ben. I really appreciate it. 👍

A hundred DOLLARS!???That thing had better wash my car too!!! (I'm being really dramatic this morning) 6 grams AND it has a battery!??!?!?! That's pretty incredible. These metrics...I forget all the ones that you've said...do they help you train? Are these things trainable? Or is this mostly just a pacing tool? Who did your swim,bike, run logo? I have never asked you. HAHAHA - "odd step."!!! YES: What problems does this solve!? I looked at your weather this morning, it looks WET! You open my eyes to so many cool tech things I have no idea exist.
@mlegrand2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think the lack of power was odd. I'm pretty sure Coros plans to drop the metric all together and focus on 'Effort Pace'. We'll see. Maybe they'll change their mind. There's kind of two logos. I made the one with the X in it. But there's also the Swim, Bike, Run, Rinse, Repeat typography on the shirt that I sell. I can't remember the guy on fiver that helped me with that. But he was great. 👍

But doesn't it disregard running power since coros watches already measure that from the wrist?
@mlegrand Жыл бұрын
I think so. I think it uses the more accurate pod when connected. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

i'd like to know if it gives different measurement when wearing different shoes. and how long does it take for pace to go down to zero when you suddenly stopped running.

Ray at DCRainmaker did that exact stop test. Overall, he wasn’t super impressed with this device. 😬

Understand why they made it work only with Coros watches but how many of serious runners out there use Coros. Great initial impression video, Matt.

Yeah, it's interesting that it doesn't follow the standard foot pod protocol. I wonder if they could have made it work multiple ways. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

@@ap1027 - I think it's very important to acknowledge that Kipchoge gets paid to run with a Coros watch. I'd look at which watch he was wearing when he won bronze at the Athens Olympics in 2004.

@@scott_strool - Hey Scott - I think a lot of serious runners wear Coros. I still think it's odd that Coros limited this Pod to Coros users only.
