Great guest, Robin. Dylan is so savvy for, let's face it, a relatively young man. Many of you younger guys are already so far ahead of us Gen-X'ers and this fascinating topic has helped us all to learn more about how money & investments work. Keep up the great content, dude - your channel is building and building. 💪

I think the rate charged on an overcollaterized bitcoin loan is a function of the true inflation rate. The rate shouldn't scare you away from borrowing.

people want to get rich quick not get rich slowly that's another reason I think why bitcoin works so well, it transfers money very effectively from the impatient to the patient.

Equating financial products such as options to “fiat games” is a cognitive mistake. A proper identification of “fiat games” is a structure that relies upon government force to steal money from others. Options existed during the gold standard and are an extremely valuable risk management tool for owners of equities/commodities. We should welcome Bitcoin options as a human innovation that strengthens the asset.

@@RobinSeyr It is in our own self-interest to guard against the corrupting influence of anti-liberty ideas from so-called “anarcho-capitalists”. The fundamental idea on which “AnCap” is based is expressed by the Rothbard title “Our Enemy, the State.” This sentiment often expands to rejection of any form of civilization. At its root, the AnCap movement is a nihilist movement. Bitcoin, in contrast, is a life-giving, freedom protecting innovation that has the potential to return our civilization to a sound money system. We should not advocate for “tearing down the system”, but rather, for simply “separation of money and state.” With the exception of our base money, our financial system is a marvel of modernity - we should appreciate it and help strengthen it.

From a balance sheet perspective, why should a company implement their own Bitcoin strategy instead of either buying the bonds or the stock of MSTR? "If you can't beat them, join then", right?
@RobinSeyr25 күн бұрын
With MSTR you have the counterparty risk of MSTR. Way better to directly own BTC.

A lot of Bitcoiners are very religious, even though I’m not.
@dasfahrer818725 күн бұрын
Nah. BTC won't survive the global regulation that's currently in the works. The institutions just see it as a way to make a quick buck. It'll make one last great push to get everyone in and then it they'll dump it right before the global CBDC (GBDC) is announced when everyone is in BTC. It will wipe out the vast majority of wealth across the world, forcing people to adopt the GBDC. BTC isn't at the start, it's at the end.

@michaeljohnscott798925 күн бұрын
So, please explain how governments can stop it? 😅
@dasfahrer818725 күн бұрын
@@michaeljohnscott7989 Many ways. But they only have to threaten the people's freedom and the survival of companies to remove it from mainstream and institutional support. It will have no choice but to go underground at that point, which will obliterate any value it has as nobody but those small handfuls of die-hards will be willing to transact in it. A limited supply is irrelevant if nobody is interested in using it. Even Saylor will be out at that point and MSTR will cease to exist.
