I am a loyal customer who almost never changes brands after I find what I like. But after the Gillette fiasco, I turned to Daily Shave Club for my shaving supplies until I confirmed, from their sales department, that they donated $100K to BLM. I Promptly cancelled my subscription! 🖕🏼 What ever happened to just selling razors?

Normies a.k.a. the vast majority of people think the Gillette add sends a "good message" and perhaps the offended people "took it personal" and "the message was not for them". Implicit bias training has the nasty side effect of increasing conscious bias. After training, people become hypersensitive to how they act around those of a different race, always worried that everything they do could be construed as racism.

The personal/hr dept never cared about employees. They have always been there to protect the employer from the employees. I am 100% sure they expend huge efforts to appear to be as friendly as possible to the staff ( people confide to their friends) but that is just a ploy to make you think they are on your side. They will back you to the hilt, the hilt of their knife that is, when they plung into your back, if you dare cross the companies interests.

When my Union (was a member for 40 years) announced it was seeking endorsement as a White Ribbon approved workplace and that it was supporting White Ribbon, I resigned and told them why. When I said so, they said thanks, but they do not support domestic violence in any way, I said neither did I. I also said White Ribbon was part of the problem, not a solution. My key point of thought was that if the Union supports crap like them, what other garbage do they support and remembered this is the organization that formed the Labour Party. It suddenly twigged what so many others had been saying over the years. Big wake up call.

The virtue signalling that Starbucks does in America or other Western countries doesnt happen in other markets they operate in - never saw any of that $hit in Japan, Hong Kong, or Taiwan and from what I understand it certainly doesnt happen in the Middle East - Starbucks went broke in Australia before some rich listers decided to resurrect the brand, from what I understand Starbucks in Australia is still operating at a loss. As for the ANZ bank they lost me when they refused to renew banking facilities for the Port of Newcastle coal terminal.

HR's then: making worker surveys and catching up with latest psychological research to help people be more comfortable, productive and motivated, as well as mediating in conflicts (also spotting and resolving the ones simmering under the lid before they spill over), helping workers to prepare for raise/promotions talks and inter-company interviews. HRs now: recruiting cheap untrained labour with no language and monitoring purity of thought, race and gender.

At least that's from my perspective, had a brief contact with working in HR and they prepared us for the first, then told us to do the latter. Good thing I spent most of the time translating and proofreading mails between "us" and subcontractors as well as job offers.

I worked for an internation charity, it did give unconscious bias training and the director regularly spoke of the patriarchy. Despite being a female heavy organisation I believe my IT role was outsourced because I was a male employee.

On Monday, Westpac managers were informed they need to start selecting people for redundancy. It turns out there are diversity quotas for letting people go too. Guess who is first in line to lose their livelihood? You would think that if it came to this it would be a survival situation and you would retain the best. No one told the lemmings. I hope they are equally diverse when conscription comes back when there is a national emergency.

it's simpler IMO... genuine advertising creative is super hard to come up with (the "idea").... identifying demographic groups and speaking directly to them without a creative "idea" is far easier (and cheaper).... ad agencies were once paid fortunes by clever marketing departments to come up with mostly "entertainment" ideas to convey a promotion.... the modern technique is to use a social phenom to "play to"... which anyone can do, once you've identified the sub-group you are targeting... and it suits social media better than broadcast media.

Via advertising and marketing, companies have been associating their products with things that don't really have anything to do with those products for at least 80 years. These people certainly don't believe the nonsense but have an invested interest in propagating it; for the reasons you discuss in the video. On a broader level it distracts attention from their actions and the real inequities and issues. A "revolution" or overturning the current hegemony cannot happen whilst the people are divided and fighting among themselves; hence identity politics.

I guarantee I understand ownership structures of publicly listed companies better than you. Your broad sweeping generalization that they are tightly concentrated just doesn't hold up to the facts. Large funds managers and deep pocket private investors have very little interest in this stuff. They are certainly NOT pushing their own propaganda as the original post claims. The companies are simply trying to manufacture a public image by being up with the latest fashion.

But here’s a question, since grocery stores are also getting into the habit of wokeism, how do you feed yourself? sure there’s online options available for most, but not all areas will have that option, they may be able to order things regularly but have to wait a lot longer for items. And there’s farmers markets again not all area’s may have this option, and are usually held open on weekends, If anyone even suggests Amazon, you clearly haven’t watched the video, I’m just trying to find a solution, but I’m an idiot 😂
