Harding failed, EOKA won, 300 men against an empire. Enosis wasn't achieved as the ultimate aim, instead independence. EOKA were not terrorists they were freedom fighters, as was Nelson Mandella, himself a freedom fighter. The British and Harding were good at creating divide and rule - during the EOKA campaign by the Greek Cypriots the majority population of the island, the Turkish Cypriot minority were turned against the Greek Cypriots by the British. EOKA were heroes, example March 1957, Grigorios Afxentiou finally burnt alive by the British in a cave as he would not surrender, after hours of battle. Street names were named after him.
