It’s not just toxic masculinity, it’s also largely toxic femininity. Look at what happened to markiplier and jacksepticeye, they were afraid to hug because girls would see some ‘deeper meaning’ and ship them. I’m not saying toxic masculinity isn’t to blame, but shipping and hookup culture has gotten way too out of hand. I imagine the transition from that kind of life experience into thousands of people squeeing over how hot you are and how they love you so much/all the attention etc. must be pretty overwhelming and certainly an interesting transition for them both to go through. _TL;DR maybe just be gentle with them both, and respect the boundaries they set for their fans.
