OMG! JP that was the best video yet !🥰. Are you trying to torment us . 😆. I absolutely love flag beach the best place in the world for me 🤩. It was wonderful to see our hotel the oliva beach .you answered one of my questions regarding whether it was open. But do you know when it will open and please dont say its shut for good like one of the comments said 😭. Would be very grateful if you could find out any info regarding Oliva beach as cant seem to find any. We are rebooked for next june to go there . I never get tired of seeing how beautiful the beach is with the colours of the sea turquoise with a definite navy line separating the sea from the sky so lovely will play the vid over and over until we can get there. Thank you so very much . Stay safe and well 🥰😘

The Oliva beach was built illegally because this is a protected area. The Cabildo allowed Riu to renovate a it few years ago for some strange reason and now they want to renovate it again. Central Government in Spain have said they can't do it because it's in a protected area and want to demolish it. There is now a long running dispute going on between The Cabildo and Central Government and as it stands at the moment it is due to be demolished with the loss of 400 jobs but of course nothing is certain with the Spanish and favours etc. so we will see.

The Dutch authorities try to make think the people we are in the second corona wave, but we are not. Actually we are in the first yearly flu wave we have to enjoy every winter.
@JPinFuerteventura4 жыл бұрын
I don't know Eva. I guess you are in a better position than I am to find out really. The Netherlands (and elsewhere) aren't in a "second wave", you just have an increase in positive tests because you are doing many times more tests than you were back in March. It s exactly the same in the UK. It is the death rate that is the important figure and that is still low.

John, there's confusion in the UK with some tabloid newspapers running stories about tourists being made to pay high prices to get tested for Covid once they arrive, or if they arrive, without some sort of all-clear certificate. Is this true or is travel just a normal process again now - can you do a video on it? Maybe interview someone in the know, talk to some tourists on the streets etc?
@JPinFuerteventura4 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard of that (so probably tabloid rubbish). Perhaps they should be highlighting the rip-off profiteering of those offering tests in the UK. It isn't "normal" at the moment as you do need a valid negative PCR certificate hat is less than 72 hours old.

Quick update. The Government have just said that although the State of Alarm applies to the Canaries they will not invoke the curfew at the moment because of case levels. When they go up, which surely they will, then they will apply it.
@JPinFuerteventura4 жыл бұрын
Well good news I guess, at least for now. I guess you saw there were 10 new positives today, all from the last boat. It's not tourists that will screw things up it is the illegal immigrants if they don't stop them arriving. This is just more terminology that governments are using to brainwash, cause panic and as an excuse for more control. Cases aren't going up, only positive tests. Someone who tests positive, without any symptoms, can't be considered a case, only those who need hospital treatment are cases.
@stratman78104 жыл бұрын
@@JPinFuerteventura The worrying thing about immigrants is where are the 16 which know arrived a couple of days ago (this came from the one the police intercepted in Costa Calma) but disappeared, how many more are there we don't know about and how many of them are infected and spreading it. HOT off the press 12.30 pm Sunday. The Spanish Government have just approved a state of alarm over the whole of Spain including the Canary Islands. They are looking to keep this in place until April. Letting tourists in again may be a good thing, but most of my Spanish friends, some of whom work in tourism and most of Spanish social media are totally against this. Yes, they say, they want tourists as they are the life blood of the island but they don't want them coming in without testing at departure and arrival. They think that without this testing and after all the restrictions we have had to keep infections low, all will be in vain, the virus will take hold as it has in Europe and the islands will end up being in lockdown again within a few weeks. For those who doubt this check in Spanish social media for yourself. I have no idea what UK residents here think as I only know one and I haven't seen her since the virus got here. Last thing, regarding curfews which look like they will be legalised for Autonomous Communities if they want them, I found people split about 50/50 on this.
@JPinFuerteventura4 жыл бұрын
The virus hasn't taken hold again. They are just doing 30x more tests a day than they were in March which is why the number of positives has increased. The number of deaths is still low and that is the important number. It amazes me that the government and others can't grasp this obvious fact.
@stratman78104 жыл бұрын
@@JPinFuerteventura I didn't say I agreed with them, I was just pointing out the anger that is being expressed, after all, the infections have only increased by ten today. The comments are angry but not as bad as some I have seen about Tenerife where cases are on the up. It is quite horrifying to see the vitriol being expressed about the guiris in the south of the island, not only totally ignoring the law, but posting videos of themselves doing it.
