This is a very helpful tip on keeping gaskets in place while assembling parts. Pick up a can of the Permatex high tack, it’s super sticky stuff and under the lid is a small brush. Brush it on thin and press the gasket down. It will hold it nicely in place while you assemble. Love watching your channel, absolutely love the older equipment!

Chris, you’re making steady progress, which is good. It’s nice that you get some help every now and then. Once the Mack is done I hope your first project is to clean and organize your garage. You could lose a saddled horse in there.

Similar idea to the 4640 and 7520 turbo and intercooler. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Pretty nice slide hammer kit. You will find quite a few uses for it

Slow and steady it may seem slow but you are getting it together at a steady pace

Its a self-regulating intercooler that doesn't require the vehicle to move OR any kind of control system and since it's operated by the same exhaust gas as the turbocharger it automatically keeps pace with the increased cooling needs from increased boost pressure.
@mikebougher37318 ай бұрын
The exhaust nuts are brass not copper. You should also lube the rockers and pushrod sockets so it doesn't start up dry.

Try getting some gasket shellac compound to help hold gaskets in place and also help seal them. I use it all the time. Great video keep keep on plucking away and you will get there.

Be careful of exhaust fumes from your air compressor. A quick pipe connected to the muffler can save your from dirty air.

Chris, there’s a KZbinr out there who is an excavator but knows a boatload about Mack trucks because he used to work for them. “Dirt Perfect” is his channel. I watched a video he did within the past six months on setting valves. Could be helpful.

I have always found slide hammers to be something gentle does not work very well when using. I usually feel like I sprained something after using one but that is probably a result of my hight and the odd angles and strange locations I find my self using one😅

One thing I'm sure of is that when the truck starts running again, you're going to encounter your first issue with the truck a few year later (i hope for you not sooner) because when you use something, it's going to fail one day, nothing lasts forever. The keyboard warriors are going to say 'you should buy a new truck' regardless of all the work you've done on this truck this year.Have a good day, hope the best for you from France.

You forgot the magnetic trees when you were at Harbor Freight they are awesome will not work with copper but other things you'll actually love them and you should also invest in a battery operated ratchet Milwaukee makes a great one little crazy but it's definitely worth it

It’s kinda funny how you think such a small project should take 1-2 2-3 days and then things happen, like parts places don’t have the parts you need or forget to put the parts you got and piss for in the box then trips back and forth to town can literally waste a day or the right parts box with the wrong part put in there, I’ve had that happen several times and makes it hard and take longer

All his corn ground didn’t get fertilizer last year because he didn’t have enough money, and this year dry down cost had to killed him along with non contracted corns low price. I doubt he has enough money to plant his crop and everything associated with growing a good crop. His KZbin is his saving grace.
