I have the homeoblock and its incredible. I am getting amazing expansion. My dentist told me there is a chance it may straighten my teeth once I have made sufficient room. If not absolutely perfect can have braces for a very short time to correct some alignment. There is also an appliance for the lower jaw so you can actually expand the lower jaw.

I thought the homeoblock does not expand the lower jaw?

@@ew5770 You can get a homeoblock upper and lower appliance. I am close to finishing using the upper appliance. I will then begin on my lower appliance.

@@David-fv2hj wow! Okay, i appreciate you letting me know. I had a consult with Belfor and I thought he had nixed the lower. Good to know! So you are happy you went with this as opposed to the MSE? Did your airway expand?

@@ew5770 Definitely. I would never get MSE. Its strange. Its brutal. The removable appliance pushes up into my palate and expands the whole palate. Its hard to explain but it pushes up the exact parts of the palate that has collapsed. And everything shift around beautifully. Its very comfortable and can speed up or slow down expansion depending on how you're feeling. I could not be happier with this device. It has even just began to shift some teeth that were crowded into perfect alignment on my right side. My left side is still crowded but as I expand I feel the palate pushing up the left side of my palate making way for my teeth to align. I have expanded from 33mm to 42mm intermolar width. Should be 50mm by end of this month. Send me a message end of april and i will let you know my total expansion.

I believe people only get MSE because they have been lied to and believe past a certain age the palate is fused and therefore the only option is MSE. Wrong- expansion is possible at any age with semi rapid expansion. I am 34 and the expansion has been effortless.

With DNA's acrylic... it could possibly help limit molar extrusion... which would help to limit verticle growth. This is the same concept as a bonded vs. banded palatal expander on the verticle (some studies show that a bonded RPE limits backward and downward motion of the mandible). Additionally, the acrylic acts as a bit plane allowing freer movement of the mandible. It is odd to hear that the mandible is not addressed in its growth as often with functional appliances between teeth there is concern of mandibular overgrowth. That is what seems to happen more in DNA, IMO on kids. Keeping a shorter treatment time may help.

Correction: Wasn't the Homeoblock developed by Dr. Belford not Dr. Singh?

They were both involved in the creation of the homeoblock and then went there seperate ways. Yes, it is now belfors creation where as Dr Singh has a similar device called the DNA appliance.
