The same thing happens on the street all the time with the police. You’ll see five or six cops standing around someone on the ground while the cop that has him pinned down his punching and beating the guy and the rest of them just stand there and do nothing. That’s why some states have created duty to intervene laws. If they see another cop breaking the law and they don’t do anything about it then they can be charged too.

A black guard set our black son up to be in solitary confinement. He was triggered because son told him the job he had was the best he could do, after guard bragged about being better than the prisoners and being able to go home at the end of the day, while they were stuck in this “..it hole.” Guard replied he was going to make sure he didn’t have his weekly visit that week. A white prisoner immediately called us about the set up so we showed up anyway to let them know we knew. (We lived 7 hours away and visited every week). The next visit guard showed up during visitation tried to intimidate us (he never covered visit area in the 5 years). Finally he left the floor when he saw trying to stare us down wouldn’t work. This was in North Carolina. We reported him but…. Fortunately he was only in solitary less than 24 hours. Got his room and job back. No demerits. Message to family members, even if you live out of state, visit regularly.

@lcdesigns6145 That is some very routine BS. Now, I never saw anyone beaten, but there was a lot of petty retaliation exactly like what happened with your son. I joked around and BSed with inmates, I'd put on football on TV and stand around and watch it. I treated them like employees. This is why I never got food or anything thrown on me and most other COs did. The entire unit was calm for my whole shift. I got nicknamed "Statham" because I'm a bald white guy like Jason Statham. They'd say, "everybody be cool, Statham will hook us up so long as nobody on that dumb shit" It's a very aggravating job, and it builds up over time.

Hello sir, I just found your page and I'm now subscribed. I left Mohawk prison in August 23 and was transferred to Marcy until March of 24. This s***goes on at Mohawk too Marcy especially though. I watched the video and I don't understand why they were bringing him through the side entrance, if you pay attention in the beginning of the video they show offense and they show them carrying him through the fence and he already looks like he's pretty busted up so that was my thought was he must have came from mohawk with the COs over there saying he was a problem for the COs, or as you know if there's a fight between two inmates sometimes they'll ship one out and leave the other inmate at the prison. And being that Mohawk Marcy in Mid-State all within minutes of each other they usually transfer guys around quite a bit between those three at least what I was seeing during my last bid. I grew up in Rome NY so I grew up literally right next to all three of these prisons. But getting back to what I was saying they weren't bringing him through the sally port entrance they are bringing him through the side entrance of Marcy, there were actually I counted three white shirts in that video and I'm familiar with a few of those guards almost all of them and they're all trash. My family didn't believe me when I came home and told them that this s*** happens, and they said that they didn't believe me to the extent that I was saying, it's very unfortunate that this happened to this guy and I feel horrible for his family and children if he has any.I'm just surprised that they actually finally started wearing their cameras because when I left in March of 2024 they weren't wearing those cameras yet they were still fighting about having to have to wear them. I just really hope that people can open their eyes now and see what the hell goes on, year of the COS talking about all the gangs and stuff in prison they are the biggest gang in the prison the COs. And I heard the same story before I got transferred to Marcy too was that you don't have to watch out for the inmates you got to watch out for the COs.

What's up big dawg!! Just subscribed!! Yeah, I been following this story. Idk what TF happened but if you handcuffed, like you said, THERE AIN'T NO JUSTIFICATION!! THIS STRAIGHT MURDER AND SOME REAL FUCK SHIT!! THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!

Even with prior lawsuits vs these officers was not enough to prevent them from killing a handcuff inmate.

When these officers get charged with murder is will calm down the rest of the officers, hopefully. They have been abusing prisoners since the beginning of time and getting away with it. Thankfully things are getting caught on film and camera now!

@22CONSERVATIVEFELONАй бұрын
@@davidfernandez1354 It's true, I am frustrated that they continue to get away with abusing men, and doing so for reasons that are not even reasons at all. There needs to be an oversight committee in the prisons everyday.

The worst criminals carry a badge or have the state behind them . Abolish qualified immunity. 14 fired but not charged ,this comes from the Warden who turns their head to this criminality

I was a CO in a state pen for nearly a decade (not NY). That video shocked me. Nothing close to that ever happened where I worked. We had plenty of uses of force but we didn’t pound on any of the inmates like that. What gets me is these officers did this knowing there was a camera recording the whole thing!. We had some real winners who did things that made us sick but we simply did our jobs and went home.

@Fredaslee28 күн бұрын
Psychopaths often become cops because it's an easy way to have control. The same way p*dos often become teachers because it's an easy way to groom their victims. And the psych tests are useless because both are desperate for recruits so, minor infractions are ignored. I have no doubt the same applies to CO's.

I was Incarcerated at MidState Cor. Facility across the street from Marcy for 6 years and just in those few years they killed 5 people between the 2 prisons and got away with it without a question. So just imagine how many times this has really happened. And I promise the way you see these "officers" act is how it happens every time they get someone alone and can be tough. Not every but almost every one of them is like this, it's a cultural problem. Even if they dont start the career evil, they are corrupted by the ones in place already.

Wow so then the people from the prison who sent them to the other prison should be charged because they sent him with a message...dead man walking! In LA County back in 2012 the prisons had a major problem with a sheriff named Lee Baca. This sheriff supported violence in the jail system. The federal sent in an undercover agent to the jails. That uncover agent was also abused. This sheriff was then convicted in obstruction of justice. He was also charged along with another local city sheriff 2nd in command (Paul tanaka) in sending consficated guns that were ment for destruction to el salvador. In total the FBI charged 21 jail employees with federal crimes. Baca served 3 years in jail and Tanaka served 5. As a result of the feds getting involved, the local county jails have changed the way they treat the prisoner. I've known couple inmates who have came in and out and have said that they changed for the better. I believemthat the federal government needs to get involved in this one because civil rights were violated. And they should dismantle that prison by breaking up the culture at that prison and others like it! I have also heard that Leticia James has decided to recuse herself from this case which passes me off! Here she is going all out on trump like a vicious pitbull but doesn't want to go after her people (correctional officers, police officers) that is discussing. She is part of the problem.

Yes, prison guards are protected by qualified immunity, a legal doctrine that shields government officials from civil or criminal liability for their actions: Qualified immunity This doctrine protects government employees from being sued unless they are found to have violated "clearly established law". This is a high standard that requires victims to point to a nearly identical case of unconstitutional conduct. Application to prison guards Qualified immunity protects prison guards from civil liability for their actions, including use of force, as long as it isn't clearly established that their actions were excessive.

No prisoner should be faced by getting beat by the correction officers no civil servant has the right to beat who they supposed to serve outside of prison and inside the prison. There are poor holes in place inside prison to take highly measurements to protect themselves without beating on a prisoner. These prisoners are sent to prison for doing crimes in those who are keeping them in prison are doing more crimes than the prisoner that was sent because of one crime.

I was at Marcy until this past July. The goon squad did most of their damage in the van rides. There were some cool co's there but not many. Most were on a power trip and verbally, emotionally or physically abusive. I only received 2 packages that had nothing stolen from them in my time. Every prison steals from packages, every prison has officers who think they are above the law and violate inmates. It got here when the bodycams came about but as you can see it didn't always break their habits. I know i won't survive if i ever have to go back.
