For sure it's not cool, but I don't think anyone laughing was happy that he was hurt, they probably didn't know how bad it hurt and they didn't notice that Gui didn't think it was funny. I'd like to think things are usually misunderstanding rather than malicious intent.

Great selection! My dad and I both did wing chun - Dad trained at Ip Man's school in Hong Kong the same time Bruce Lee was there - and the wing chun portrayed in the movie is very pure, things like chain punches ('machine gun style') are a real technique that we were trained to do. Shek Kien, the actor who played Han, was my dad's eldest uncle. He was a very good martial artist, practiced praying mantis style and his signature weapon throughout his career was three-section staff (not claws; Jet Li used the same weapon during Last Hero In China). That kick to the doll's head turns my stomach a bit; I know it's not real, but watching someone kick your 'great-uncle' in the head like that is still brutal!

It's really difficult to lock down a person who does a lot in it though. When it comes to 2d animation, would you rather hear from the artists who drew the black and white images, the ones that went frame by frame digitally after that, the concept artists and art director who designed the characters or perhaps even the background artists? There are so many components.

I once got punched in the ear during a sword fight I was clearly winning and was instantly out of the fight. That shit hurt and seriously disoriented me. Also, it completely confused me and broke my concentration. Yeah, I was a total noob. I was surprised how well I had done up until that point. But I was also wearing armour and padding underneath it and I was grappling the guy when it happened. His punch landed on my ear by accident. If he had hit me on purpose without the head protection, it probably would have been 10 times worse.

3:30 The punch that sparked the "jump the line" conversation was actually also necessary from a cinematography standpoint as well. When he jumps into the air on the right side of the screen, your eyes are engaged over there, then the punch cut happens and he's punching him on the right side of the screen again, so your eyes never left where they needed to be to see necessary information. It was practical for more than one reason which makes me really want to watch it 😅

You guys definitely need to react to Atomic Blonde fight scenes with a stuntwoman; especially to the fight scene during final act in the apartment building which is a 7 minute or so long scene that is made to look like it was all done in one take. The film's directed by David Leitch who was co-director on the first John Wick and his style is very prevalent through out the film, especially since he got the same cinematography as John Wick 1 to work on it as well.

@armandomelendez8755
@armandomelendez8755 4 жыл бұрын
@@DaveYognaut I think there's definitely a few hidden cuts in it, there're most noticeable when the camera pans away from the main character to something or someone else like the shot where the camera pans down stairs to where the bag is after that guy tried to throw it at Charlize 's character. That one's the most obvious to me since they could very easily cut there since none of the actors/stuntmen are in the shot and continue the fight on the next take. Either way it's a very impressive fight scene and there's still a lot of decently long takes during the whole fight where I don't even see any hidden cuts until when I do like almost a minute later.
@armandomelendez8755

@@marvinvargas4988 You likely have since I've notice a few comments recommend it quite a few times before but they have yet reacted to it lol. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually since it's just way to obvious of a film for them to not react to with a stunt person since it's easily one of the best hollywood action films of the past decade. It's just kinda painful how long the wait is, especially since this series isn't as frequent as VFX artist react and it's gonna obviously be harder to get stuntmen to guest star on it because of covid-19

yes! enter the dragon alone influenced so much action cinema! we would not have films such as the matrix or crouching tiger or almost any jackie chan film without bruce lee paving the way for martial arts popularity in america. enter the dragon also directly influenced the creation of dragon ball, the blaxploitation genre, as well as popularizing the “mirror scenes” in which the villain is amongst mirrors and the protagonists needs to find them. iconic masterpiece!

Sometimes to make it feel real it's got to be real. I see the point you're trying ro raise but here's the thing. You dont become a stunt person for the personal safety of the job, and they are well aware of their own boundaries for safety. Seems to me they take carefully considered risks but are never forced to perform things they deem too dangerous.
