Okay maybe Stephen didn’t deserve to die, but he did deserve to be locked up. But Peter had no choice but to save Jenny and everyone else. He was a hero.

Suffice to say Peter was indeed a hero for stopping Stephen despite killing him in the process. When Peter ran over Stephen, he mainly hoped that Stephen would survive just so he could get arrested and jailed for his crimes. The fact that Stephen did in the end and Peter felt guilty for the grief he caused Audrey over her son's death all but confirmed that while he wished Stephen dead, it was because he was angry because of Carla's ordeal. Peter's intention of stopping Stephen when he ran him over was by no means any intention of killing him - he just wanted to stop Stephan from harming Jenny or anybody else. Because in that moment Peter didn't see Stephen as an enemy, but a dangerous madman who simply had to be stopped before anybody gets hurt from his wrath or violence.

Just look at the weekend, I was outside sunbathing, literally dossing/drinking in the garden with no clothes on. edit: Craig is a coward and not fit for working in the police force. Jenny was let go so there was no need to kill Stephen. Peter is definitely at fault which is a shame because I love his character
