Returning to open this year’s conference, one of the leading figures in the East Bay Indigenous community and a longtime activist for First People’s rights and the protection of land and waters globally, Corrina Gould, will focus on the concept and practice of “Rematriation,” which involves reclaiming traditional land and sacred sites to help rebuild traditional cultures and heal the deep wounds inflicted by colonization and genocide and also prioritizes the unique role women play in that enormous undertaking.
Corrina Gould, born and raised in the village of Huichin (now known as Oakland CA), is the Tribal Chair for the Confederated Villages of Lisjan Nation and co-founded and is the Lead Organizer for Indian People Organizing for Change, a small Native-run organization; as well as of the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, an urban Indigenous women-led organization within her ancestral territory. Through the practices of “rematriation,” cultural revitalization and land restoration, the Land Trust calls on Native and non-Native peoples to heal and transform legacies of colonization and genocide and to do the work our ancestors and future generations are calling us to do.

Thank you for your beautiful lessons Sister 🙏 ❤ I would like to share a different Pledge of Allegiance that more accurately reflects the scope of our stewardship as a species: I pledge allegiance to neither person, place, nor flag, but to every living being... And to Our Great Mother, who nutures us all... One Planet, All Creation, United in Peace, with Freedom, Justice, and Love for All. This came to me at the beginning of the pandemic and I am grateful to share it with you...especially in light of your comments about the other pledge...which I completely agree with. Peace and Love are the guide post's forward... Peace, Love, and Blessings to you Sister🙏❤️🦋

That's so far off base it's frightening. No, we don't hand out cars or stab people here or anywhere else. Thanks for putting that out there. It's straight over our house lot but we don't buy or sell the braces. I think that's Smile dentistry, not us.

It doesn't do any good to hide or remove the videos of you're getting henned. It's alcohol near me here. We get ripped off from behind us too. Dow Jones Frontline overlaps market here and nobody tries to change it. Here is a School network that runs from California to Alaska! It's all schools and what they buy and sell, and truck loading zones. Dollar General store is your closest stores and the District Attorney would like you to hold onto them.

Thank you Corrina. Both my sons were born at the foot of Tyooshtak--and I'm sorry I don't know how to spell this properly--They know this is their Father Mountain and they have learned to make offerings to their Father Mountain and Mother Water. This is SO important. Thank you for teaching us the beautiful name of this magnificent mountain being.
