Corroded marine battery cable - how far does it go?

We were surprised how far into the tinned copper battery cables the salt had traveled. Starting from green corroded terminals at the battery isolation switch we end up with blackened copper cable. This corroded cable causes lots of problems to engines and marine electronics. Check your connections carefully to make sure yours aren’t suffering the same fate . This boat is only 5 years old!
