how do i start repairing a structure with damaged rebar in concrete? who do i have to call civil engineer, structual engineer?

Crystal, I would start by first getting the damaged structure surveyed by a testing and inspection company - like us. A repair strategy can then be formulated and a third party repair company employed to carry this out. Repair of the concrete will most likely require removal of concrete cover over any steel that is corroding, the fitting of sacrificial anodes to the surface of the existing concrete and/or waterproofing and then a repair patch applied over the broken out areas. This is simplified, with more steps involved depending on the mode of corrosion and where in the structure the corrosion is occurring.

@@purplequickfeet For constructing a jetty, what material do you think is at best. i was thinking using steel with concrete coating to prevent corrosion from happening in the long run
