With the training, it should be reasonable that police know how to do their job lawfully, but due to the small amount of training, police officers get they are taught very little about their job and the law. Mistakes do happen, but if I am a truck driver and run someone over, even if it is an accident I am still liable for the damage I have caused in the duty of my job

while i understand the grade for the police, i kinda think they extended those "courtesies" to try and not escalate. if you try and force the warrant, i.e. going hands on if needed and prying the phones from the deputy's hands, the deputies have similar if not the same equipment as the police. they can draw their weapons, draw their tasers, it becomes a volatile situation for both sides. we saw how confrontational they were when asked to stay inside the building
