I feel like I should say, I prefer crimson, you may prefer corruption. The reason they tied is because the devs are incredible and have done an amazing job at balancing the two biomes, making both equally as good as the other in almost every situation. Let people have their opinions.

@@Keniced the weapons are equal, the musket does more damage but slower firerate, the undertaker does less damage with a faster firerate, the other orb/heart weapons are kinda trash though, however, the corruption has a better biome key and the chain guillotines are better than the fetid baghnaks as its been garbage ever since 1.4. The dart rifle and pistol are the same as the undertaker and musket, but the crimson has ichor which is like 90x better than cursed flame and the putrid scent is better imo as i prefer damage over survivability

Clinger Staff is so good cause you easily cheese Old One's Army and add extra dps to Destroyer, Golem, and Plantera. It's also great for exploring the Post Plantera Dungeon. Which you are gonna have to if your playing mage but Clinger Staff can be used with any class regardless. The weapons of the corruption are probably better overall

the increased mobility is worse than the increased regen and damage, plus you can easily get a bunch of mobility from the Hermes Boots and it's upgrades, swiftness potion and sunflower, the fledgling wings and the balloons, the frog leg and it's upgrades

Although i dont think it really matters to me because both have their own uses, advantages are determined on how the player plays, if the player is good at dodging and wants more mobility to be safer, they would choose corruption. If they want to do a good amount of damage and tank well, then they would choose crimson. In the very end, they are just preferences;) why did i write this???

I would like to say, you did kind-of skip over crimson's useful accessory/accessories. The flesh knuckles are definitely a strong accessory, specifically for melee. It also has multiple items it can craft into. The panic necklace can be helpful, but unfortunately is very limited in usage. It is good that it can be used in crafting though. Would have to say they are both amazing! Corruption definitely rules in music, crimson rules in aesthetic and looks for sure.

flesh knuckles aren't worth using unless you have a ranger mate who doesn't want to dodge anything. taking 4 less damage a hit is just a massive placebo more than anything else. putrid scent on the other hand boosts your attacks' damage by 5%, with an extra 5% chance to double it. not only is that more impactful on its own, but if you're hitting an enemy less frequently than you're getting hit yourself, you're either in an invincibility box or you're dying...

Statistically speaking, crimson is better, easier, and more rewarding than the corruption. Originally, it was corruption only because the worm scarf was so much better than the brain of confusion, but the buffs they gave to the damn thing make it one of the best accessories in the whole game. Ultimately the total damage negated by the brain is more than the scarf, too. Corruption's only real selling point now is nostalgia, unfortunately.

Corruption is better because you can defeat EoW with little effort. Preparation: 400 hp, armor (optional), 3 rails, a hammer, heartreach potion (optional) and any piercing weapon. Arena: basically put the rails and make the corners bouncy with a hammer then put a campfire (optional), after spawning the worm ride the minecart and defeat it lol. (This works at master but idk about legendary)

Upon revisiting it, the panic necklace is an EXTREMELY underrated accessory. Especially when combined with the honey comb. That extra movement Especially when topped with the brain of confusion makes taking consecutive hits near impossible. Its such a good accessory and moreso for melee players against the WoF, since the nights edge strat gets even better when you can run fatser than the wall

Fun fact: the corruption music was actually changed in 1.2 or 1.3 and you can find the old corruption music during a blood moon or at a meteor sighting.

In crimson worlds, you can’t get ebonwood before hard mode, which is an extremely useful material for buildings because it’s just true regular wood texture but vertical and its walls can be used to look like beams that you can place things in front of which isn’t possible with regular wood beams.

I always go corruption because it's what I know and ig grew up with. I started playing mid 2012 when I was about 10 and that's what was in the game at the time. Everything about it, especially the music, hits the nostalgia points for me
